The Road To El Dorado
''The Road to El Dorado'' is a 2000 American animated musical adventure comedy film directed by Eric "Bibo" Bergeron and Don Paul, from a screenplay by Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio, as well as additional sequences directed by Will Finn and David Silverman. Starring the voices of Kevin Kline, Kenneth Branagh, Rosie Perez, Armand Assante, Edward James Olmos, and Jim Cummings, the film follows two con artists who, after winning the map to El Dorado in Spain, wash ashore in the New World. The map leads the two men to the city of El Dorado, where its inhabitants mistake them for gods. The soundtrack features an instrumental score composed by Hans Zimmer and John Powell, and songs written by Elton John and Tim Rice. Elton John also periodically narrates the story in song throughout the film. Eric "Bibo" Bergeron
Eric "Bibo" Bergeron (born July 14, 1965) is a French animator and film director. His work includes ''The Road to El Dorado'' (2000), ''Shark Tale'' (2004) and '' A Monster in Paris'' (2011). Bergeron has served as animator on films like '' Asterix in Britain'' (1986), '' Asterix and the Big Fight'' (1989), '' Fievel Goes West'' (1991), '' FernGully: The Last Rainforest'' (1992), '' We're Back! ''Gladiator'' is a 2000 epic historical drama film directed by Ridley Scott and written by David Franzoni, John Logan, and William Nicholson from a story by Franzoni. It stars Russell Crowe, Joaquin Phoenix, Connie Nielsen, Oliver Reed, Derek Jacobi, Djimon Hounsou, and Richard Harris. Ballad
A ballad is a form of verse, often a narrative set to music. Ballads were particularly characteristic of the popular poetry and song of Great Britain and Ireland from the Late Middle Ages until the 19th century. They were widely used across Europe, and later in Australia, North Africa, North America and South America. While ballads have no prescribed structure and may vary in their number of lines and stanzas, many ballads employ quatrains with ABCB or ABAB rhyme schemes, the key being a rhymed second and fourth line. El Dorado
El Dorado () is a mythical city of gold supposedly located somewhere in South America. The king of this city was said to be so rich that he would cover himself from head to foot in gold dust – either daily or on certain ceremonial occasions – before diving into a sacred lake to wash it off. The legend was first recorded in the 16th century by Spanish colonization of the Americas, Spanish colonists in the Americas; they referred to the king as El Dorado, 'The Golden One', a name which eventually came to be applied to the city itself. David Silverman (animator)
David Silverman (born March 15, 1957) is an American animator who has animation director, directed numerous episodes of the animated television series ''The Simpsons'', as well as its The Simpsons Movie, 2007 film adaptation. Silverman was involved with the series from the very beginning, animating all of the original The Simpsons shorts, short ''Simpsons'' cartoons that aired on ''The Tracey Ullman Show''.
