The Pulse Of Awakening
''The Pulse of Awakening'' is the third album by Swiss industrial metal band Sybreed. It was released in 2009 under Listenable Records. Vocalist Benjamin Nominet has stated that the album title was inspired by the cyberpunk anime television series ''Ergo Proxy''. In April 2025, the band announced that ''Antares'', ''The Pulse of Awakening'', and ''God Is an Automaton'' would all be reissued on CD and vinyl, all set to be released on 30 May through Listenable. That same day, the band released a cover of the Tears for Fears song " Shout" that will appear on the reissue for ''The Pulse of Awakening''. Sybreed
Sybreed (a portmanteau of "synthetic" and "breed") is a Swiss industrial metal band from Geneva. The band was founded in 2003 by vocalist Benjamin Nominet and guitarist Thomas "Drop" Betrisey. Sybreed disbanded in 2013 when Nominet departed from the group, and reunited in 2025. History The band was founded by Thomas "Drop" Betrisey (guitar) and Benjamin Nominet (vocals) after their previous band Rain broke-up. They recruited Luis "Burn" Da Silva Cruz on bass and Alex Anxonnia on drums to record their debut album, ''Slave Design'', produced by Drop and Claude Lander. ''Slave Design'' was released on 7 September 2004 through Reality Entertainment/Caroline Distribution. Shout (Tears For Fears Song)
"Shout" is a song by English pop rock band Tears for Fears, released as the second single from their second studio album, ''Songs from the Big Chair'' (1985), on 23 November 1984. Roland Orzabal is the lead singer on the track, and he described it as "a simple song about protest". The single became the group's fourth top 5 hit on the UK Singles Chart, peaking at No. 4 in January 1985. In the US, it reached No. 1 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 on 3 August 1985 and remained there for three weeks; also topping the ''Cash Box'' chart. "Shout" became one of the most successful songs of 1985, eventually reaching No. 1 in multiple countries. Spiros Antoniou (Greek: Σπύρος Αντωνίου; born 24 October 1973 in Athens, Greece) is a Greek death metal singer, bassist, and visual artist best known for his work with Greek symphonic death metal band Septicflesh, in which he has been since 1990 foundation and of which he is a founding member. Nowell Rhys Fulber (born October 10, 1970) is a Canadian electronic musician and producer. He is a member of Front Line Assembly and Delerium, along with Bill Leeb. He also records under his own name and under the name Conjure One. Biography Fulber was born in Vancouver, British Columbia on October 10, 1970. His father, a musician, was born in Germany and his mother was from Great Britain. His father introduced him to the music of Led Zeppelin and Kraftwerk; they both attended a Kraftwerk concert in 1975. Fulber became interested in music and started drumming on his father's instruments at a very early age. Ian Christopher Stanley (born 28 February 1957) is a British musician, songwriter and record producer. He was a member of Tears for Fears for most of the 1980s, and played a key role in the making of their multi-platinum-selling second studio album '' Songs from the Big Chair''. Career Work with Tears for Fears (1982–1989) After offering them free use of his recording facility, Stanley became a member of Tears for Fears, contributing on synthesizers, drum machines, organ, pianos and backing vocals on their first three albums. Roland Jaime Orzábal De La Quintana (born 22 August 1961) is an English musician, singer, songwriter, record producer, and author. He is the guitarist, co-lead vocalist, main songwriter, co-founder, and only constant member of Tears for Fears. He is also a producer of artists such as Oleta Adams. In 2014, Orzabal published his first novel, a romantic comedy. Early life Orzabal was born in Portsmouth, Hampshire, on 22 August 1961. He was initially raised in nearby Havant. Paul Raven (musician)
Paul Vincent Raven (16 January 1961 – 20 October 2007) was an English bassist best known for his work in the post-punk group Killing Joke. He later played in the industrial music bands Prong, Ministry, Zilch, and briefly Godflesh. Biography Raven was born on 16 January 1961 in Wolverhampton, Staffordshire. He was the son of folk musician Jon Raven, and nephew of author Michael Raven. His early musical career included stints in Neon Hearts, who released three singles from 1977 to 1979 and the album ''Popular Music'' in 1979, and the short-lived 1982 glam rock band, Kitsch, which also included Rook Randle and Tyla, before he would go on to larger success with his band, Dogs D'Amour. Geordie Walker
Kevin Walker (18 December 1958 – 26 November 2023), known professionally as Geordie Walker, was an English rock musician, songwriter and producer. He was best known as the guitarist of post-punk group Killing Joke. He joined the band in March 1979; his first recording was released in December of that year. Their debut self-titled album came out in October 1980. Walker recorded 15 studio albums with Killing Joke and also took part in various side-projects. His unorthodox style of electric guitar playing was widely acclaimed. Life and career When he was ten years old, Walker was deeply marked by the guitar sound in the song "Sabre Dance" by Love Sculpture. "I used to go mad when it came on the radio." Paul Ferguson
Matthew Paul Ferguson (born 31 March 1958) is an English rock drummer, best known for his work in the post-punk/ industrial group Killing Joke and cult English punk band Pink Parts. Following a stint as the drummer with the London-based Matt Stagger Band in 1978, Ferguson became a founding member of Killing Joke and served as their drummer from 1979 to 1987. He was known as Big Paul Ferguson during this period. Ferguson is known for his tribal drum style. Jaz Coleman
Jeremy "Jaz" Coleman (born 26 February 1960) is an English singer and musician. He came to prominence in the early 1980s as the lead vocalist and keyboardist of post-punk group Killing Joke. In addition, Coleman has composed orchestral and soundtrack pieces. As Killing Joke's singer, Coleman is known for his raspy baritone voice and intense stage presence (occasionally appearing wearing face makeup). Bill Janovitz, writer for the website Allmusic, described Coleman's stage presence and voice as "almost always full-on in his approach, with a terrifying growl of a voice that is similar to that of Motörhead's Lemmy". In the first part of their career, Coleman also played synth while singing, adding electronic atonal sounds to create a disturbing atmosphere to their music. Killing Joke were an English rock music, rock band formed in Notting Hill, London, in 1979 by Jaz Coleman (vocals, keyboards), Paul Ferguson (drums), Geordie Walker (guitar) and Youth (musician), Youth (bass).
