The Probe (news)
"The Probe" was the final episode of the original ''The Outer Limits'' television show. It first broadcast on 16 January 1965, during the second season. Opening narration :''The persistence of Man's curiosity led him into new worlds. Without conquering his own, he invaded the sub-world of the microscope, and the outer-world of space. It is said turnabout is fair play… but is it?'' The story The final episode of ''The Outer Limits'' deals with four plane crash survivors who suddenly find themselves trapped in an alien space probe that was taking water samples. Inside they find a puzzle they need to solve before all four are killed. Plot En route to Tokyo, a plane flies into a storm and the pilot is forced to ditch the plane into the eye of a hurricane. The crew and passengers awake on a life boat and soon discover that they have been captured by an alien space probe. ''The Outer Limits'' is an American television series that was broadcast on American Broadcasting Company, ABC from September 16, 1963, to January 16, 1965, at 7:30 PM Eastern Time on Mondays. It is often compared to ''The Twilight Zone (1959 TV series), The Twilight Zone'', but features a greater emphasis on science fiction (rather than stories of fantasy or the supernatural). It is an anthology series, anthology of self-contained episodes, sometimes with plot twists at their ends. Kenneth D. Peach, Sr. (March 6, 1903 – February 27, 1988) was an American cinematographer. Biography Kenneth D. Peach Sr. was born in El Reno, Indian Territory (in what is now Oklahoma). Peach entered the film industry in 1923 and became a director of photography in 1926. He worked with composite processes, miniatures, montages and matte shots for Tiffany Pictures for two years, then joined Fred Jackman's technical effects department at Warner Bros.- First National for three years. In 1931 he joined RKO Pictures' special effects department. Peter Mark Richman (born Marvin Jack Richman; April 16, 1927 – January 14, 2021) was an American actor in films and on television, who was for many years credited as Mark Richman. He appeared in about 30 films and 130 television series from the 1950s until his retirement in 2011. Peggy Ann Garner (February 3, 1932 – October 16, 1984) was an American child actress. As a child actress, Garner had her first film role in 1938. At the 18th Academy Awards, Garner won the Academy Juvenile Award, recognizing her body of contributions to film in 1945, particularly in '' A Tree Grows in Brooklyn'' and '' Junior Miss''. Hayes (February 26, 1929 – October 1, 2004) was an American television actor, who as an activist in the environmental movement, worked for the establishment of the first Earth Day, observed on April 22, 1970. Janos Prohaska (born János Prohászka; October 10, 1919 – March 13, 1974) was a Hungarian-born American actor and stunt performer.
