''The Points'' ( zh, t=棱角媒體), also known as ''Points Media'', is a Hong Kong news website established in 2023. Founded by former journalists of pro-democratic media outlets following the 2019–2020 Hong Kong protests, it operates with multiple stations worldwide to provide 24-hour international news coverage. History ''The Points'' was established in January 2023 by media professionals who migrated outside of Hong Kong, including ex-journalists from ''Apple Daily'', a pro-democratic outlet shut down after the 2019–2020 Hong Kong protests, as well as those from ''Stand News'', RTHK, Cable News, and '' Next Magazine''. Its name was derived from the motto "to seek truth in troubled times and make clear all points f view. Pro-democracy Camp (Hong Kong)
The pro-democracy camp, also known as the pan-democracy camp, is a political alignment in Hong Kong that supports increased democracy, namely the universal suffrage of the Chief Executive of Hong Kong, Chief Executive and the Legislative Council of Hong Kong, Legislative Council as given by the Basic Law of Hong Kong, Basic Law under the "One Country, Two Systems" framework. The pro-democrats generally embrace liberalism, liberal values such as rule of law, human rights, civil liberties and social justice, though their economic positions vary. Albert Chan
Albert Chan Wai-yip (born 3 March 1955, Hong Kong), also known by his nickname "Big Piece", is a former member of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong representing the New Territories West constituency. He has served as a legislator from 1991 to 2016 except for the periods 1997–2000 and Jan–May 2010. Chan, formerly a social worker, was a member of the Tsuen Wan District Council. Political career In 1986, together with Lee Wing-tat, he founded the Hong Kong Association for Democracy and People's Livelihood. From 1994–2002 he was a member of the Democratic Party. Misinformation On Social Media
Misinformation is incorrect or misleading information. Misinformation and disinformation are not interchangeable terms: misinformation can exist with or without specific malicious intent, whereas disinformation is distinct in that the information is ''deliberately'' deceptive and propagated.
