The Panthers F.C. is an Equatorial Guinean football club based in the city of Malabo. The club was founded in 1997. Their home ground is the Estadio de Malabo which holds a capacity of 15,250, their ground was built in 2007 primarily to host the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations. Their former chairman was current Akonangui FC president Ruslán Obiang Nsue (son of Teodoro Obiang). They currently play in the Liga Nacional de Fútbol. Estadio De Malabo
Estadio de Malabo is a multi-purpose stadium in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, opened in 2007 and currently used mostly for football matches. With a seating capacity of about 15,250, it serves as the home ground of the Equatorial Guinea national football team. It was one of the host stadiums for the 2012 and 2015 editions of the Africa Cup of Nations as well as the scene for the final of the 2008 African Women's Championship. Malabo
Malabo ( , ; formerly ) is the capital of Equatorial Guinea in the province of Bioko Norte. It is located on the north coast of the island of Bioko (, and as ''Fernando Pó'' by the Europeans). The Liga de Fútbol de Guinea Ecuatorial (LIFGE, formerly known as Liga Semiprofesional and Primera División de Honor) is the top division of the Equatoguinean football league system. It was founded in 1979. Prior to independence, two separate leagues existed, one for Europeans (''European League'') and one for the locals (''Liga Indigenas''). The 2012 Africa Cup of Nations, also known as the Orange Africa Cup of Nations for sponsorship reasons, was the 28th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, the football championship of Africa organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). The competition took place between 21 January and 12 February 2012 and was co-hosted by Equatorial Guinea and Gabon. The bidding process for hosting the tournament ended in September 2006. Previously, he was the Chairman of the Supreme Military Council (Equatorial Guinea), Supreme Military Council from 1979 to 1982.
