The Palace (Miami)
The Palace is a residential high-rise building located in the Brickell neighborhood of Miami, Florida, United States. Standing at , the building is currently the 74th-tallest building in the city. The building is located at 1541 Brickell Avenue. The Palace houses 42 floors, and was completed in 1981 by real estate magnate Harry Helmsley. The building was designed by the renowned Arquitectonica architectural firm, and MEP engineering services were provided by Franyie Engineers, Inc.. The building was the first condominium high-rise tower to be exclusively represented and sold by real estate broker Alicia Cervera, founder and chairman of Cervera Real Estate. Brickell Avenue is a north–south road that is part of U.S. Route 1, in Miami, Florida, just south of the Miami River. North of the Brickell Avenue Bridge, U.S. Route 1 is known as Biscayne Boulevard. Alicia Cervera (born March 14, 1930) is a Peruvian-American businesswoman, real estate broker and philanthropist known for her work as the founder and chairman of Cervera Real Estate, a real estate brokerage firm headquartered in Miami, Florida. Harry Brakmann Helmsley (March 4, 1909 – January 4, 1997) was an American real estate billionaire whose company, Helmsley-Spear, became one of the country's biggest property holders, owning the Empire State Building and many of New York's most prestigious hotels. His second marriage to Leona Roberts ("Queen of Mean") led to charges of false accounting and tax evasion as well as a celebrated trial, where Harry was judged too frail to plead, but Leona was fined and jailed.
