The Others (American Band)
The Others were an American garage rock band formed in South Kingstown, Rhode Island, in 1964. Heavily influenced by British Invasion groups, the Others enjoyed a role as one of the most popular New England musical acts, thanks in large part to their debut single "I Can’t Stand This Love, Goodbye". The record is regularly featured on 1960s garage compilation albums, most notably '' Pebbles, Volume 8''. Three singles, including "I Can’t Stand This Love, Goodbye", were released during the group's recording career, all of which were issued nationally, and represented musical progression unheard of from the majority of garage bands. South Kingstown, Rhode Island
South Kingstown is a town in, and the county seat of, Washington County, Rhode Island, United States. The population was 31,931 at the 2020 census. South Kingstown is the second largest town in Rhode Island by total geographic area, behind New Shoreham, and the third largest town in Rhode Island by geographic land area, behind Exeter and Coventry. Clyde Lovern Otis (September 11, 1924 – January 8, 2008) was an American songwriter and record producer, best known for his collaboration with singer Brook Benton, and for being one of the first African-American A&R executives at a major label. According to the music licensing organization Broadcast Music, Inc., Otis is credited as the writer or co-writer of almost 800 songs. Myron Cohen (July 1, 1902 – March 10, 1986) was an American comedian and raconteur. A son of Barnett and Rebecca (Feinstein) Cohen, Myron Aaron Cohen was born in Grodno, Russia (now Hrodna, Belarus), and came to America as a little boy.
