The Other Two (duo)
The Other Two are an English dance band consisting of husband-and-wife Stephen Morris and Gillian Gilbert, who are both from New Order. The band name refers to the fact that the other New Order members, Bernard Sumner and Peter Hook, had already embarked on side projects by the time the first the Other Two record was released. Their debut single "Tasty Fish" was released in 1991 and peaked at No. 41 on the UK Singles Chart. The Other Two have released two albums, '' The Other Two & You'' (1993) and '' Super Highways'' (1999). Macclesfield () is a market town and civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire East, Cheshire, England. The Other Two & You
''The Other Two & You'' is the debut album by the Other Two, an electronic music group composed of Gillian Gilbert and Stephen Morris, better known as founders of the group New Order. It was recorded in 1991, but its official release was delayed until late 1993 due to the collapse of Factory Records. Early promo copies from Factory Records were released in 1992 and referred to as FACT-330. The album was re-released with additional remixes in January 2010 by LTM Recordings. Critical reception ''The Guardian'' noted that "many of the 10 tracks could be mid-period New Order, with Gilbert's tremulous vocal substituting for Sumner's fragile tones." Timothy Allan Burgess (born 30 May 1967) is an English musician, best known as the lead singer of the alternative rock band the Charlatans. Early life Burgess was born in Worsley, Lancashire, but grew up in Moulton, Cheshire, where he moved when he was five. He went to Leftwich High School. He left school at sixteen, and worked for the ICI overseas distribution department at Runcorn. Career The Charlatans Burgess was initially the lead singer in The Electric Crayons (named after the psychedelic compilation album ''The Electric Crayon Set'', released on the Bam-Caruso record label), who released one single, "Hip Shake Junkie". Burgess then joined the Charlatans, who were largely influenced by acid house, 1960s-era West Coast psychedelia and the Syd Barrett era of Pink Floyd. ''Making Out'' is a British television series, shown by the BBC between 6 January 1989 and 12 November 1991. Sub Sub were an English dance music, dance act from Handforth, Cheshire composed of Jimi Goodwin and twin brothers Andy Williams (Doves), Andy and Jez Williams. The threesome met at school in 1985 and became regulars at The Haçienda while composing their own material together. They had an underground Gramophone record, 12" single (music), single ("Space Face" in 1991) and moderate commercial success in the early 1990s on Rob Gretton's label Rob's Records, including the single "Ain't No Love (Ain't No Use)" (featuring guest vocalist Melanie Williams) which reached No. 3 on the UK Singles Chart. Melanie Williams
Melanie Williams (born 28 October 1964) is a British singer. She sang on the hit single "Ain't No Love (Ain't No Use)" alongside the Manchester-based electronic group Sub Sub. Career Williams was a friend of Sub Sub at the time, and the band, searching for a female guest vocalist, featured her vocals. This helped expose her talents to the public, and was followed by further critical success. Williams and her writing colleague Eric Gooden founded Square One Studios in Bury, Greater Manchester. The proprietor Trevor Taylor, liked what he heard and they began recording a string of tracks assisted by house engineer and musician Stephen Boyce-Buckley.
