Baker's Opera House
The Baker Building, also known as Baker's Opera House, in Dover, Morris County, New Jersey, United States, is a historic theater built of brick in the mid-1880s. Built in the Eclectic style, it has three stories plus a tower. On the north side facing Blackwell Street, there are recessed brick panels, granite lintels and window sills, and a granite panel reading "Baker Building." A Mail Pouch Tobacco sign covers the south side of the building. The "Opera House" was built by William Henry Baker as a vaudeville theater. The grand opening was on April 5, 1886, with the Alfa Norman English Opera Company performing ''The Bobetuian Girl''. On April 6 the same company performed ''The Mikado''. Tickets cost $1.00 to $1.50. Later fare included other Gilbert and Sullivan comic operas, magic shows and minstrel shows featuring Arthur Deming. Arthur Baker (born April 22, 1955) is an American record producer and DJ best known for his work with hip hop artists like Afrika Bambaataa and Planet Patrol, as well as British group New Order. He is also known for remixing the Jill Jones song "Mia Bocca" on the 12" single, taken from her self-titled debut album ''Jill Jones'' (1987), released on Prince's Paisley Park Records, as well as remixing the Pet Shop Boys song, " In the Night". The Opera House Theatre is a theatre in Blackpool, Lancashire, England. It is located within the Winter Gardens, Blackpool, Winter Gardens, a large entertainment complex in the town centre and originally opened in 1889, although it has been rebuilt twice, in 1910 and 1939. As part of the Winter Gardens, the theatre is a listed building, Grade II* Listed Building. It is operated by Crown Leisure Ltd, on behalf of Blackpool Council, who purchased the property from Leisure Parcs Ltd as part of a £40 million deal in 2010. The Opera House is a level in the 1994 role-playing video game ''Final Fantasy VI'' developed by Square. Taking place partway through the game, it occurs when the game's characters require an airship, the only one of its kind, owned by the adventurer and gambler Setzer. The character Celes, a former Imperial general, is a near-double of a famous opera diva named Maria, who Setzer is planning to kidnap during a performance. The characters plan for Celes to switch places with Maria, causing her to be kidnapped in Maria's place and allowing the others to sneak aboard the airship and convince Setzer to let them use it. During the opera, "Maria and Draco", Celes "sings" the song "Aria di Mezzo Carattere" in a cutscene, before the opera is attacked by the recurring antagonist and monster Ultros, forcing the other characters to stage a rescue. Opera House (February 24, 1988 – April 20, 2016) was a British thoroughbred racehorse and sire. In a racing career which lasted from October 1990 until November 1993 he ran eighteen times and won eight races. Opera House was best known for his performances as a five-year-old in 1993, when he won three Group One races, including the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes and was named European Champion Older Horse. Operahouse were a five-piece rock band based in Camden, London. Operahouse released their debut single, "Man Next Door" in March 2007 on Glaze Records to great response, earning plaudits and airplay from such stations as BBC 6 Music, Xfm, and BBC Radio 2's Jonathan Ross. Susan Froemke (born November 5, 1947) is an American film director and producer. Froemke was the associate producer and one of the editors of the influential 1975 documentary film '' Grey Gardens'', which was selected for preservation in the National Film Registry in 2010. The 2001 documentary LaLee's Kin: The Legacy of Cotton, which she co-directed with Deborah Dickson, was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature. Opera House is a 1961 Indian Hindi-language mystery film produced by A.A. Nadiadwala and directed by P.L. Santoshi. The film stars Ajit, B. Saroja Devi, K.N. Singh and Lalita Pawar among others. It marked Saroja Devi's Bollywood debut. Plot Saroj (B. Saroja Devi) lives a poor lifestyle in Nagpur along with her widowed mother, Leela Sharma (Lalita Pawar) and a younger sister, Nanhi. She gets employed as a singer/dancer in Bombay and relocates there. Once there, she meets with Ajit Rai (Ajit), and the couple fall in love.
