The Network 2018 () was a centre-left politics, centre-left list of political parties in Italy, political party in Italy led by Leoluca Orlando, former leading member of Christian Democracy (Italy), Christian Democracy in Sicily, founder of The Network (political party), The Network and The Democrats (Italy), The Democrats, and five-time list of mayors of Palermo, mayor of Palermo. Leoluca Orlando
Leoluca Orlando (born 1 August 1947) is an Italian politician. He was mayor of Palermo for over twenty years and was president of the Italian Federation of American Football (FIDAF). He is best known for his strong opposition to the Sicilian Mafia during his mayoralty in the 1980s, which was publicly referenced in the media as the Palermo Spring (). The 2017 Italian local elections were held on Sunday 11 June. If necessary, a run-off vote was held on Sunday 25 June.
