The Nervous Return
The Nervous Return is an American New wave music, new wave/post-punk band from Los Angeles. Noted for their electrifying and unpredictable live shows, the band has toured Europe and North America headlining their own club tours as well as supporting arena tours with well-known acts such as No Doubt and Blink 182. They are also known for the diverse and eclectic bands they shared the stage with including Autolux, Hella (band), Hella, Imperial Teen, Har Mar Superstar, Electric Six, xbxrx, 400 Blows (Los Angeles band), 400 Blows, The 88, Make-Up (American band), The Make-Up, Trans Am (band), Trans Am, The Used, and Enon (band), Enon. They have released two EPs and one studio album. Their self-proclaimed best effort was their last recording (144 HOURS) that was unreleased until December 28, 2018, when the band finally released it themselves. Make-Up (American Band)
The Make-Up is an American post-punk band from Washington, D.C. formed in 1995, consisting of ex-Nation of Ulysses frontman Ian Svenonius on vocals, James Canty on guitar and organ, Steve Gamboa on drums, and Michelle Mae on bass guitar. The Make-Up were joined in late 1999 by a fifth member, Alex Minoff (of the groups Golden (band), Golden and Extra Golden), who played guitar with the group until the band's dissolution in early 2000. New Wave Music

Funk
Funk is a music genre that originated in African-American communities in the mid-1960s when musicians created a rhythmic, danceable new form of music through a mixture of various music genres that were popular among African-Americans in the mid-20th century. Gothic rock (also called goth rock or simply goth) is a style of rock music that emerged from post-punk in the United Kingdom in the late 1970s. The first post-punk bands which shifted toward dark music with gothic overtones include Siouxsie and the Banshees, Joy Division, Bauhaus (band), Bauhaus, and the Cure. The genre itself was defined as a separate movement from post-punk. PROMO (Promoting Missouri) is a Missouri statewide LGBTQ advocacy and lobbying nonprofit organization. A member of the Equality Federation, it is the largest LGBTQ organization in the state. So called conversion therapy is as of July 2018 still legal in Missouri (with the exception of a few jurisdictions) and PROMO is campaigning to ban the practice when it is forced on minors. PROMO, and partners such as the ACLU of Missouri and the Human Rights Campaign, work to pass a non-discrimination act in Missouri.
