The Meadows (Key West)
The following is a list of the neighborhoods within the city limits of Key West, Florida. Key West Island Bahama Village It is located southwest of downtown, in Old Town. It covers over a 16 block area that lies southwest of Whitehead Street and northeast of Truman Annex, bordered by Whitehead, Southard, Fort and Louisa Streets. It was once a primarily black neighborhood, and is named for its many original residents who were of Bahamian ancestry. Once a marginalized area, it is undergoing gentrification and now hosts many of the island's most popular restaurants. It contains the city of Key West's public swimming pool. While the sign announcing the entrance to Bahama Village remains, the area as depicted in the picture has since been transformed from a shopping area into a restaurant (current as of Sept 2016). The Meadows At Grand Valley State University
The Meadows at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan, is the home of the Grand Valley State Lakers men's and women's golf teams. The links-style championship course was designed by Michael John Hurdzan in 1994. The course has hosted six NCAA National Championships since its opening and will host the women's National Championship in the spring of 2011. The Meadows has been explained as "One of the first West Michigan golf courses classified as upscale," by Michigan Golf. The course is located on the northwest quadrant of GVSU's main Allendale campus. Rankings The course is ranked the 22nd best college golf course in the nation by Links Magazine. The Meadows School is a non-profit, coeducational, nonsectarian, independent college preparatory day school located in the Summerlin area of Las Vegas, Nevada. The campus serves just under 900 students in grades pre-k through 12 spread among four divisions – Beginning School (Pre-K), Lower School (Grades K-5), Middle School (Grades 6-8), and Upper School (Grades 9-12). For the 2019-20 school year, The Meadows has an estimated enrollment of 864 students and a teaching staff of 97 faculty, with an average student to faculty ratio of 11:1. DeSoto Independent School District is a school district based in DeSoto, Texas (USA). The district covers most of DeSoto, the Dallas County portion of Glenn Heights, and a section of Ovilla in Dallas County, as well as a small portion of Cedar Hill. In 2009, the school district was rated "academically acceptable" by the Texas Education Agency. Dr. Usamah Rodgers was chosen to lead the district as superintendent in May 2022. The Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, originally The Meadows Racetrack and Casino, is a Standardbred harness-racing track and slot-machine casino which is located in North Strabane Township, Pennsylvania, United States, about southwest of Pittsburgh. It is owned by Gaming and Leisure Properties and operated by Penn Entertainment. History In November 1962, ground was broken for the first parimutuel horse-racing track in Western Pennsylvania. The track opened on June 28, 1963, and was operated by the Washington Trotting Association. The Meadows Music & Arts Festival was an annual music festival held at Citi Field in Queens, New York City. The festival was produced by Founders Entertainment, which also produces the Governors Ball Music Festival. The inaugural year of the festival, which was held on October 1–2, 2016, was headlined by several artists, including: Kanye West, J.Cole, Kygo, and Chance the Rapper. The festival boasted 42 artists and four stages: Linden Blvd., Queens Blvd., Shea, and The Meadows. The festival was inspired by the cancellation of Kanye West's set during the Sunday of the 2016 Governors Ball Music Festival due to heavy rains. The Meadows Foundation is located at 3003 Swiss Avenue in the Wilson Historic District in Dallas, TX., and was incorporated as a private philanthropic institution in 1948 by Virginia and Algur H. Meadows. The Meadows Casino & Hotel ( The Meadows Club) was the first resort hotel-casino in the Las Vegas area, opening in 1931. The Meadows was located at Fremont Street and East Charleston Boulevard near the Boulder Highway, and outside the Las Vegas city limits. Its location was designed to attract workers and tourists from the Hoover Dam. The hotel had 30 to 50 rooms (accounts vary). The Meadows Greyhounds is one of two metropolitan Greyhound racing tracks located in the Australian state of Victoria. The track is positioned within an industrial estate in the north western Melbourne suburb of Broadmeadows.
