''The Marcellini Millions'' is a 1917 American drama silent film directed by Donald Crisp and written by George Beban and Edith M. Kennedy. The film stars George Beban, Helen Jerome Eddy, Pietro Sosso, Henry Woodward, Fred Huntley and Mae Gaston. The film was released on May 14, 1917, by Paramount Pictures. A print is preserved in the Museum of Modern Art collection. Donald Crisp
Donald William Crisp (27 July 188225 May 1974) was an English people, English film actor as well as an early producer, director and screenwriter. His career lasted from the early silent film era into the 1960s. He won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in 1942 for his performance in ''How Green Was My Valley (film), How Green Was My Valley''. Early life Donald Crisp was born George William Crisp at 3 Clay Hall Road, Bow, London, on 27 July 1882. He was the youngest of ten children (four boys and six girls) born to Elizabeth (née Christy) and James Crisp, a labourer. He was educated locally and in 1901 was living with his parents and working as a driver of a horse-drawn vehicle. Crisp made a number of claims about his early life that were eventually proven false decades after his death. Eugene William Pallette (July 8, 1889 – September 3, 1954) was an American actor who worked in both the silent and sound eras, performing in more than 240 productions between 1913 and 1946. After an early career as a slender leading man, Pallette became a stout character actor. Adele Farrington
Adele Farrington (1867 - 19 December 1936) was an American actress of the stage and the silent film era. Biography Born in Brooklyn, New York, Farrington had the lead in ''This Is the Life'' (1915) for the American Film Company. She also did her own stunts for the film. Personal life and death Farrington was married to, and divorced from, actor Hobart Bosworth. Her relationship with Bosworth led to his divorce from a previous wife in 1903. In the divorce suit, the keeper of a boardinghouse testified that Bosworth and Farrington had represented themselves to her as husband and wife when they lodged there. Bosworth offered no defense in that suit. On December 19, 1936, Farrington died in Los Angeles at age 69. Her body was cremated following the funeral two days later.
