''The Magic of Christmas'' is the fourth studio album by Australian singer Samantha Jade, and was released through Sony Music Australia on 2 November 2018. It is her third album of covers following her debut album and previous album ''Best of My Love''. At the ARIA Music Awards of 2019, ''The Magic of Christmas'' was nominated for Best Adult Contemporary Album. Background In a statement regarding the album, Jade said: "Christmas is my favourite time of year, and spending Christmas at home with my loved ones has always been a precious tradition for me. Samantha Jade Gibbs (born 18 April 1987) is an Australian singer and songwriter. She has written tracks for artists including JoJo and Ashley Tisdale. In 2012, Jade won the fourth season of '' The X Factor Australia'', the first woman to win the Australian series. She subsequently signed with Sony Music Australia and released her winner's single " What You've Done to Me", which debuted at number one on the ARIA Singles Chart. Zachary Scott Poor is an American singer-songwriter based in Los Angeles, California who first appeared on the music scene in early 2010 with his EP, "Let's Just Call it Heartbreak", a collaboration with Glee producer Adam Anders. "O Holy Night" (original title: ) is a well-known sacred song for Christmas performance. Originally based on a French-language poem by poet Placide Cappeau, written in 1843, with the first line (Midnight, Christian, is the solemn hour) that composer Adolphe Adam set to music in 1847. Jay Livingston (born Jacob Harold Levison, March 28, 1915 – October 17, 2001) was an American composer best known as half of a song-writing duo with Ray Evans that specialized in songs composed for films. Livingston wrote music and Evans the lyrics. Early life and career Livingston was born in McDonald, Pennsylvania to Jewish parents. He had an older sister, Vera, and a younger brother, Alan W.
