The Magic Loungeabout
The Magic Loungeabout was a music festival held in the grounds of Broughton Hall, North Yorkshire. Originally held in the grounds of Newburgh Priory in Coxwold in 2008, it moved to Broughton Hall in 2011. The festival was only held three times, in 2008, 2011, and in 2012. Format of Festival The festival took place over a full weekend, with the Saturday focused on electropop, whilst the Sunday was more acoustic lead. The event that was planned for 2010, also saw the intention of 15 new areas on the site including concierge service, pop up restaurants, a cinema, speakers tent, grown up games area, themed camping areas, video projections, walk about art, and VIP day tent packages with waiter service, however, the festival was cancelled and returned for its final edition in 2011. New Young Pony Club
NYPC (also known as New Young Pony Club) are an English electronic music band from London. The band was formed by Andy Spence and Tahita Bulmer in 2004. Their influences are predominantly post-punk and new wave artists. Career Forming and signing Mutual friends introduced now London-based vocalist Tahita Bulmer and producer Andy Spence, who shared a love of punk rock and dance music. The founding pair began writing together, originally only for Bulmer to perform. Spence later assumed a larger role when they decided to form a proper band, and the duo recruited Lou Hayter (keyboards), Igor Volk (bass) and Sarah Jones (drums). Benjamin Francis Leftwich
Benjamin Francis Leftwich (born 4 September 1989) is an English singer-songwriter from Heworth, York, Heworth, York. His father was Adrian Leftwich. He attended Hempland Primary School and Bootham School in York. Leftwich released his first album ''Last Smoke Before the Snowstorm'' in 2011 which peaked at #35 on the UK charts. He has released four further albums since, the most recent in February 2024. Leftwich has also co-written with other artists, including The 1975, Holly Humberstone and CMAT (musician), CMAT. Early life Leftwich began playing at the age of ten and grew up listening to the Rolling Stones and Nina Simone; later discovering Nick Drake, Bob Dylan, and Elliott Smith. Summer Camp (band)
Summer Camp were a British indie pop duo, formed in October 2009 by married couple multi-instrumentalist Jeremy Warmsley and vocalist Elizabeth Sankey. They are signed to the Moshi Moshi label on which they have released all four of their full-length albums, as well as three EPs and a film soundtrack. Summer Camp's musical style has been described as "21st-century alt.pop", but also is influenced by 1960s girl groups and 1980s synthpop. The lyrics, written by Sankey, are often quite dark and deal with failed relationships, conflicts, treasure and teenage obsessions. Along with the band's artwork and music videos they also draw heavily from American culture from the 1960s–1980s. Juan Zelada
Juan Zelada (born 26 April 1981) is a Spanish singer, songwriter and musician. Zelada was raised in a musical family environment, consisting of jam sessions throughout the different generations. In 2006 he completed his studies at the ''Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts'', where he received an award for composition from Paul McCartney, calling his recording a “smashing CD”. Clint Boon
Clinton David Boon (born 28 June 1959) is an English musician, DJ and radio presenter. Boon originally rose to fame as the keyboard player (and sometimes vocalist) of Inspiral Carpets. Music career Born in Oldham, Lancashire, Boon joined the Inspiral Carpets in 1986 after previously playing in a band called The Mill. After the Inspiral Carpets split in 1995, Boon went on to form The Clint Boon Experience releasing two albums under this name – '' The Compact Guide to Pop Music and Space Travel'' (1999), and '' Life in Transition'' (2000). Fenech Soler
Fenech-Soler were an English electropop band from King's Cliffe, Northamptonshire, England, that formed in 2006 and consists of two members: Ross Duffy and Ben Duffy. Founding members Daniel Fenech-Soler and Andrew Lindsay left the band in 2016. The name Fenech-Soler is taken from Daniel Soler's full surname, which is Maltese.
