Alfonso Brescia
Alfonso Brescia (6 January 1930 – 6 June 2001) was an Italian film director and screenwriter. He began working in film against his father's wishes, and eventually directed his first film '' Revolt of the Praetorians'' in 1964. Brescia worked in several genres in the Italian film industry, including five science fiction films he directed following the release of ''Star Wars''. His work slowed down towards the late 1980s, and his last film ''Club Vacanze'' could not get distribution. Biography Alfonso Brescia was born in Rome on 6 January 1930. He was the son of a film producer and entered the film business against his father's will. His father had him work as a production driver, which involved getting up early to persuade him against entering the business which did not work. Mario Merola (singer)
Mario Merola (6 April 1934 – 12 November 2006) was an Italian singer and actor, most prominently known for having rejuvenated the traditional popular Neapolitan melodrama known as the ''Music of Naples#The Sceneggiata, sceneggiata''. He was nicknamed ''the King of the sceneggiata'' to be able to give this kind typically a regional and a national popularity and success unknown before, to make a film genre, representing all of this even off the stage, so being able to put a face to sceneggiata. ''Poliziotteschi'' (; : ''poliziottesco'') constitute a subgenre of crime and action films that emerged in Italy in the late 1960s and reached the height of their popularity in the 1970s. They are also known as ''polizieschi all'italiana'', ''Italo-crime'', spaghetti crime films, or simply Italian crime films. Influenced primarily by both 1970s French crime films and gritty 1960s and 1970s American cop films and vigilante films (among other influences), ''poliziotteschi'' films were made amidst an atmosphere of socio-political turmoil in Italy known as Years of Lead and amidst increasing Italian crime rates. Biagio Pelligra (born 24 June 1937, in Comiso) is an Italian stage, film and television actor. Life and career Born in Comiso, Province of Ragusa, Pelligra started his acting career in the second half of the sixties, and after several minor roles he got his first role of weight in 1972, in Marco Leto's ''Black Holiday''. Following the critical success of the film, from then he started appearing, often in secondary roles, in several art films, working with Roberto Rossellini, Paolo and Vittorio Taviani, Marco Tullio Giordana and Peter Del Monte, among others. Ugo Bologna
Ugo Bologna (11 September 1917 – 29 January 1998) was an Italian actor and voice actor. Biography Born in Milan, the son of a municipal employee and a housewife, in 1936 Bologna started working as a primary school teacher, and in 1939 he attended the course for cadet officers in the former italian city of Pula. A lieutenant during World War II, he was wounded during a battle, and then received a bronze medal for military valor. In 1950 he decided to give up his teaching profession and devote himself to acting. After enrolling an acting course under Isabella Riva he made his stage debut with the Fantasio Piccoli's company.
