Circle Of Snakes
''Circle of Snakes'' is the eighth studio album by American heavy metal band Danzig. It was released on August 31, 2004. It is the first studio album by the band since their debut recording not to have a number incorporated into its title (though the debut has often since been retroactively called "Danzig 1"). Music and recording ''Circle of Snakes'' was recorded at Ocean Studios and Paramount Recording Studios, both based in California. As with the band's eponymous debut, ''Circle of Snakes'' features a somewhat stripped-down sound. For the recording of his vocals on ''Circle of Snakes'', Glenn Danzig sought out microphones that would give his vocals more bottom end. Danzig's vocals are less prominent on most songs; instead the guitars, bass and drums are at the top of the album's mix. The album also features a notably heavy guitar tone. ''Circle of Snakes'' marked the first Danzig recording to feature guitar work by Tommy Victor of Prong. Victor had been an occasional to ...

It was reissued in 1998 by Def American's successor, American Recordings. Music and recording ''AllMusic'' says that ''How the Gods Kill'' "continues to expand the band's musical range". ''Pitchfork'' said that the album's sound reflected "Danzig‘s interest in pre-rock blues and pop music"; melding the influences of Willie Dixon, Roy Orbison and Howlin' Wolf into a sound that the magazine described as "Danzig at his most sinister, yet also his most human". Dixon had agreed to guest on the track "Heart of the Devil", but died before the recording session was scheduled. ''Request'' magazine said that the album's music "combines gothic sensibility with Top 40 soul" and that Glenn Danzig's vocals displayed far less of a "country-rockabilly twang" than on the band's previous two albums. Samhain (band)
Samhain was an American Rock music, rock band formed by singer Glenn Danzig in 1983, immediately following his departure from The Misfits (band), The Misfits. Glenn Danzig originally planned Samhain as a side project with Eerie Von. After the Misfits' contentious 1983 dissolution, Samhain became Danzig's full-time band. Samhain catalogs a transitional period in Glenn Danzig's musical career, bridging the gap between the punk rock/horror punk of the Misfits and the dark, heavy metal (music), heavy metal- and blues-influenced sound of Danzig (band), Danzig. Samhain's lyrics were much darker than those of the Misfits, with themes rooted in paganism and the occult and eventually the horrors of reality, as opposed to the sometimes cartoonish ghouls and ghosts of the Misfits. Both Samhain and its successor, Danzig, use the same horned skull image originally drawn by artist Michael Golden (comics), Michael Golden for the cover of the 1984 comic book ''The Saga of Crystar'' No. 8, ...

Sticky-shed Syndrome
Sticky-shed syndrome is a condition created by the deterioration of the binders in a magnetic tape, which hold the ferric oxide magnetizable coating to its plastic carrier, or which hold the thinner back-coating on the outside of the tape. This deterioration renders the tape unusable. Some kinds of binder are known to break down over time, due to the absorption of moisture (hydrolysis). The symptoms of this breakdown can be immediately obvious even when rewinding the tape: tearing sounds and sluggish behavior. If a tape with sticky-shed syndrome is played, the reels will make screeching or squeaking sounds, and the tape will leave dusty, rusty particles on the guides and heads. In some cases, particularly with digital tapes, the symptoms are more subtle, causing intermittent dropouts. Cause Some tapes may deteriorate because of a breakdown in the binder (the glue) that holds the oxide particles on the tape, or the back coating on the reverse side, if the tape was from any of ...
