After signing to McGee's fledgling Creation Records label, the band's debut single "Why Does the Rain?" was issued in 1984. The Loft (film)
''The Loft'' is a 2014 erotic thriller film directed by Erik Van Looy. It is a remake of the 2008 Dutch-language Belgian film ''Loft'', which Van Looy also directed. The screenplay was written by Bart De Pauw and adapted by Wesley Strick. Starring Karl Urban, James Marsden, and Wentworth Miller, it also features Matthias Schoenaerts who reprises his role from the original film. The film was shot in mid-2011, but its theatrical release was delayed by a change of the film distributor. Dark Castle Entertainment originally acquired the US distribution rights, as they did for '' Splice'', with the intention of releasing the film through Warner Bros. When Joel Silver moved his office to Universal Studios, he took Dark Castle, and the film with him. Universal planned to release the film on August 29, 2014, but the studio pulled it from the schedule in favor of Legendary Pictures' ''As Above, So Below''. Universal and Dark Castle dropped the film, which was then picked up by Open Road F ...

In 2011, the novel was translated into English by Amanda Prantera and published by Serbian Classics Press. At the time of writing, Haushofer was already seriously ill. Recurring motifs in Haushofer's work that are also found in this novel include loneliness in marriage and the inadequacy of communication between the sexes. The Loft (New York City)
The Loft was the location for the first underground dance party (called "Love Saves the Day") organized by David Mancuso, on February 14, 1970, in New York City. Since then, the term "The Loft" has come to represent Mancuso's own version of a non-commercial party where no alcohol, food, nor beverages are sold. Mancuso's vision of a private party is similar to, and inspired by, the rent party and house party. Unlike conventional nightclubs or discotheques, attendance is by invitation only. In the late 1970s, Mancuso abandoned the generally accepted and expected practice of beatmatching, preferring to play songs in their entirety on his renowned audiophile-quality sound system. The Village Voice wrote that Mancuso's sound system was the best in New York and even described him as "more of a party engineer than a DJ."Tim Lawrence Arti ...
