The Legions Of Death
''The Legions of Death'' is an adventure published by FASA in 1985 for '' The Doctor Who Role Playing Game'', itself based on the long-running BBC television series ''Doctor Who''.. Plot summary The player characters, usually composed of a Time Lord and Companions, are alerted to the unauthorized presence of a TARDIS in England during the Roman invasion of Britain in 43 CE. The renegade Time Lord is threatening the fabric of time by blunting the Romans' invasion, kidnapping Vespasian and sending assassins to kill Claudius. Pregenerated characters for the Third Doctor and popular Companions Jo Grant and Sarah Jane Smith are provided. A player's handout is also provided, although reviewer Barry Bailey noted that it has "some pertinent information, some irrelevancies and some misinformation." FASA
FASA Corporation was an American publisher of role-playing games, wargaming, wargames and board games between 1980 and 2001, after which they closed publishing operations for several years, becoming an IP holding company under the name FASA Inc. In 2012, a wholly owned subsidiary called FASA Games Inc. went into operation, using the name and logo under license from the parent company. FASA Games Inc. works alongside Ral Partha Europe, also a subsidiary of FASA Corporation, to bring out new editions of existing properties such as Earthdawn and Demonworld, and to develop new properties within the FASA cosmology. ''The Doctor Who Role Playing Game'' is a licensed roleplaying game published by FASA in 1985 that is based upon the BBC television series ''Doctor Who''. Description ''The Doctor Who Role Playing Game'' allows players to assume roles similar to the Doctor and his companions or to become agents of the Celestial Intervention Agency. The game uses a revision of the role-playing system originally developed for FASA's '' Star Trek RPG''. Publication history FASA acquired a license to produce a role-playing game based on ''Doctor Who'', and a game was developed by Guy W. McLimore Jr. and William John Wheeler. FASA published the game in 1985 with illustrations by Jane K. Bigos, David R. Deitrick, William H. Keith Jr., Dana M. Knutson, Dave R. Marsh, and Todd F. Marsh. The Time Lords are a fictional ancient race of extraterrestrial life, extraterrestrial people in the British science fiction television series ''Doctor Who''. Time Lords are so named for their command of time travel technology and their Nonlinear narrative, non-linear perception of time.
