Li Han-hsiang
Richard Li Han-hsiang (; 7 March 1926 in Jinxi, Liaoning – 17 December 1996 in Beijing) was a Chinese film director. Li directed more than 70 films in his career beginning in the 1950s and lasting till the 1990s. His '' The Enchanting Shadow'', '' The Magnificent Concubine'', and '' Empress Wu Tse-Tien'' were entered into the Cannes Film Festival The Cannes Film Festival (; ), until 2003 called the International Film Festival ('), is the most prestigious film festival in the world. Yueh Hua (actor)
Yueh Hua (; 14 July 1942 – 20 October 2018), also known professionally as Elliot Ngok Wah, was a Shanghai-born Hong Kong actor, later based in Canada, with Shaw Brothers Studio and TVB. Yueh was one of the most versatile and prolific leading actors of Shaw Brothers. Yueh starred in five to ten films per year in his heyday, playing roles ranging from foolish drunks to scholarly warriors. Yueh died of cancer in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, aged 76. Biography Yueh was born as Leung Lok-wah in Shanghai, with Cantonese ancestry. Yueh emigrated to Hong Kong in 1962 after graduating from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. Hong Kong has submitted 37 films for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film since first entering the Oscar competition in 1959. The award is handed out annually by the United States Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to a feature length, feature-length motion picture produced outside the United States that contains primarily non-English dialogue. Hong Kong's submission is decided annually by Hong Kong's Motion Picture Industry Association. Hong Kong, China, and Taiwan are recognized as separate entities by AMPAS and each one routinely sends a film to the competition. Lin Xu
Lin Xu (; 1875 – 28 September 1898), courtesy name Tungu (), was a Chinese politician, scholar, songwriter and poet who lived in the late Qing dynasty. He was also a student of Kang Youwei, a prominent official and one of the leaders of a reform movement in the late Qing dynasty. Lin Xu was one of the " Six Gentlemen of Wuxu". On September 28, 1898, he was executed at Caishikou Execution Grounds in Beijing via decapitation. Biography Lin Xu was born in Houguan (侯官), which is now Fuzhou, Fujian. Kong Ngai (born Tang Siu Ji; October 1936 – 13 March 2013) was a Hong Kong actor with TVB and ATV. Early years Born in China in 1936 as Tang Siu Ji, Kong's affluent family fled to Macau during World War II and later migrated to Hong Kong. Before acting he was a stockbroker and a Cantonese opera singer. Acting career Kong was hired by TVB in 1974 and stayed with the station until 1996. Ronglu (6 April 1836 – 11 April 1903), courtesy name Zhonghua, was a Manchu political and military leader of the late Qing dynasty.
