Edward Sloman (19 July 1883, London - 29 September 1972, Woodland Hills, California) was an England, English silent film Film director, director, actor, screenwriter and radio broadcaster. He directed over 100 films and starred in over 30 films as an actor between 1913 in film, 1913 and 1938 in film, 1938. Post-cinema work After directing over 100 films and starring in over 30, Sloman made his last film in 1938 in film, 1938 and in 1939 in film, 1939 left the film industry to enter radio broadcasting as a writer, producer and director. Unfortunately the majority of Sloman's works have been lost. However, his 1927 Universal silent ''Alias the Deacon (1927 film), Alias the Deacon'' starring Jean Hersholt is held by the Library of Congress. Clarence Wilson (actor)
Clarence Hummel Wilson (November 17, 1876 – October 5, 1941) was an American character actor. Career Wilson appeared in nearly 200 movies between 1920 and 1941, mostly in supporting roles as an old miser or grouch. He had supporting roles in films like ''The Front Page'' (1931; as Sheriff Pinky), '' Ruggles of Red Gap'' (1935) and '' You Can't Take It With You'' (1938). Wilson also played in several ''Our Gang'' comedies, most notably as Mr. Crutch in '' Shrimps for a Day'' and school board chairman Alonzo Pratt in '' Come Back, Miss Pipps'', his final film. Death Wilson died on October 5, 1941, and he was interred at Grand View Memorial Park Cemetery in Glendale, California. Milton George Gustavus Sills (January 12, 1882 – September 15, 1930) was an American stage and film actor of the early twentieth century. Biography Sills was born in Chicago, Illinois, into a wealthy family. He was the son of William Henry Sills, a successful mineral dealer, and Josephine Antoinette Troost Sills an heiress from a prosperous banking family. Upon completing high school, Sills was offered a one-year scholarship to the University of Chicago, where he studied psychology and philosophy. After graduating, he was offered a position at the university as a researcher and within several years worked his way up to become a professor at the school. In 1905, stage actor Donald Robertson visited the school to lecture on author and playwright Henrik Ibsen and suggested to Sills that he try his hand at acting.
