The Language Of Injury
''The Language of Injury'' is the debut studio album by the British metalcore band Ithaca, released on 1 February 2019. The band began working on the album in 2016 and recorded it with Joe Clayton at Nø Studio in Manchester in May 2017, amidst a period of personal turmoil for its members. It is a metalcore, mathcore, melodic hardcore, post-hardcore, post-metal, and screamo album whose songs are thematically based around communication or lack thereof. After almost two years of delays, ''The Language of Injury'' was released through Holy Roar Records to critical praise. It was listed as one of the best albums of 2019 by ''Kerrang!'', ''Metal Hammer'' and ''Revolver''. To promote the album, Ithaca toured the United Kingdom and Europe as both a headliner and supporting act and performed at the 2019 edition of the ArcTanGent festival. Ithaca (band)
Ithaca are a British metalcore band, formed in London in 2012. Their current lineup consists of vocalist Djamila Boden Azzouz, guitarists Sam Chetan-Welsh and Will Sweet, bassist Dom Moss and drummer James Lewis, whilst bassists Drew Haycock and Red Sismey are former members of the band. Emerging from the London hardcore scene, Ithaca were known their diverse and emotionally charged and intense musical style. Outside of their music, Ithaca were known for their focus on social issues, emphasizing values such as community and diversity. Following the release of two extended plays, Ithaca recorded its debut album '' The Language of Injury'' in 2017, amidst a period of turmoil. Crust Punk
Crust punk (also known as stenchcore or simply crust) is a fusion genre of anarcho-punk and extreme metal that originated in the early to mid-1980s in England. Originally, the genre was primarily mid-tempo, making use of metal riffs in a stripped-down anarcho-punk context, however many later bands pushed the genre to be more grandiose, faster or more melodic. Often songs are political, discussing environmentalism, anarchism, anti-capitalism, feminism and animal rights. Noise Rock
