The Kiyosu Conference
is a 2013 Japanese period comedy film directed by Kōki Mitani. The film is based on a novel of the same name written by Mitani a year prior, itself a reference to the real-life (''Kiyosu Kaigi'') held on June 27, 1582, the first joint political decision made in Japan. Synopsis After the Honnō-ji Incident and the Battle of Yamazaki, senior vassals of the Oda clan gathered at the Kiyosu Castle. Their agenda is who should be Nobunaga's successor. Kōki Mitani
is a Japanese playwright, screenwriter, actor and film director and was previously married to Japanese actress Satomi Kobayashi. He was named after ''Taihō Kōki'', the youngest Rikishi, sumo wrestler to become yokozuna. He studied dramatics at Nihon University. In an attempt to add his own character to his movies, his directorial approach follows a "one scene = one shot" system, whereby he Panning (camera), pans the camera around as opposed to Cut (transition), cutting. He claims this comes from his experience in theatre, where there are no cuts. Niwa Nagahide
, also known as (), his other legal alias was (), was a Japanese samurai of the Sengoku through Azuchi-Momoyama periods of the 16th century. He served as senior retainer to the Oda clan, and was eventually a daimyō in his own right. Going on to fight in the Oda clan's major campaigns, including Mino Campaign 1567, Omi Campaign 1568, the Honganji Campaign from 1570 to 1580, and Iga Campaign 1581, he was named one of the administrators of Kyoto after Nobunaga entered that city in 1568. Early life Nagahide was born in what is now Nishi-ku, Nagoya, but then part of Aichi District, Owari Province. From his youth, Nagahide served Oda Nobunaga and became one of his senior retainers, he fought in the Battle of Kiyosu Castle against Oda Nobutomo, deputy governor of southern Owari. Oda Nobukane
was a Japanese samurai, the younger brother of the warlord, Oda Nobunaga following the Sengoku period of the 16th century. Hori Hidemasa
, also known as Hori Kyūtarō (堀 久太郎), was a samurai retainer of Oda Nobunaga and Toyotomi Hideyoshi during Japan's Sengoku period. He was Nobunaga page, and one of Hideyoshi's greatest generals. He commanded Hideyoshi forces in several of his more important battles. Early life Born in Mino Province, he was raised along with his cousin Hori Naomasa, by his uncle, an Ikkō priest. Kuroda Yoshitaka
, also known as , was a Japanese ''daimyō'' of the late Sengoku period, Sengoku through the early Edo period. Renowned as a man of great ambition, he succeeded Takenaka Hanbei as a chief strategist and adviser to Toyotomi Hideyoshi. Susumu Terajima

Maeda Toshiie
was one of the leading generals of Oda Nobunaga following the Sengoku period of the 16th century extending to the Azuchi–Momoyama period. His preferred weapon was a yari and he was known as "Yari no Mataza" (槍の又左), Matazaemon (又左衛門) being his common name. Oda Nobutaka
was a samurai and member of the Oda clan. He was adopted as the head of the Kanbe clan, which ruled the middle region of Ise Province and so he was also called Kanbe Nobutaka (神戸信孝). Biography Nobutaka was born as the third son of Oda Nobunaga and he was called ''San Shichi'' (三七), possibly because he was born on the seventh day of the third month, in the Japanese lunar calendar system. His mother was a concubine named '' Sakashi'' (坂氏).
