''The House with Nobody in It'', also released as ''The House with Nobody Home'', is a three-reel American silent drama film released on September 22, 1915 by the Gaumont Film Company as a Rialto Star Feature and distributed by the Mutual Film Corporation. The melodrama was written by Clarence J. Harris and directed by Richard Garrick. Richard Garrick
Richard Garrick (December 27, 1878 – August 21, 1962) was an Irish-born American actor and director. Life and career Garrick was born Richard Thomas O'Brien in the townland of Portlaw, County Waterford, Ireland. His father, James E. O'Brien, was a master tailor in that town, counting among his clients Lord Waterford as well as other nobility and landed gentry. In 1882, James left Portlaw for the United States. He landed in North Adams, Massachusetts, where there were cotton mills and the need for a clothesmaker. Two years later, his wife Johanna and children followed. In 1898, Garrick enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served as a corporal in Company M, U.S. 26th Infantry Regiment stationed in Miagao, Iloilo, in the Philippines in 1900 during the Philippine–American War. When he returned to North Adams, he worked for a time in his father's tailor shop, then struck out on his own. Bradley Barker
Bradley Barker (January 18, 1883 – September 29, 1951) was an American actor and film director of the silent era. He also created sound effects for film and radio. Born in Long Island, New York, Barker was a vaudeville performer and an actor in stock theater. He appeared in 70 films between 1915 and 1928. He also directed seven films between 1929 and 1930. After he worked as an actor, Barker began creating sound effects for radio programs and films. He provided the sound of the MGM lion on screen before the studio began using a recording of a real lion and provided sounds of a variety of animals on radio. Radio programs on which he worked included '' Let's Pretend'' and '' Little Orphan Annie''. On September 29, 1951, Barker died at his home in New York City at age 68. Ivy Troutman (September 23, 1884 – January 12, 1979) was an American supporting actress active during the first half of the twentieth century.
