The Haunted Mask II
''The Haunted Mask'' is the eleventh book in the original ''Goosebumps'', the series of children's horror fiction novels created and written by R. L. Stine. The book follows Carly Beth, a girl who buys a Halloween mask from a store. After putting on the mask, she starts acting differently and discovers that the mask has become her face; she is unable to pull the mask off. R. L. Stine says he got the idea for the book from his son who had put on a Frankenstein mask he had trouble getting off. ''The Haunted Mask'' was featured on the ''USA Today'' and ''Publishers Weekly'' bestseller list, and cited by one reviewer as "ideal for reluctant readers and Halloween-themed sleepovers." Tim Jacobus (; born April 21, 1959) is an American artist best known for illustrating the covers for nearly one hundred books in R. L. Stine's ''Goosebumps'' series. He has done over three hundred book covers and paintings for various different series, novels and video games. He currently resides in New Jersey, doing most of his art digitally. Jacobus graduated from Morris Knolls High School, where he played prep football and began taking art classes. He attended the Spectrum Institute for the Advertising Arts in Hillsborough Township, New Jersey. ''Goosebumps'' is a anthology horror fantasy television series based on R. L. Stine's best-selling book series of the same name. It is an anthology of stories involving children and young adults in otherworldly situations. The series is centered around the same supernatural or occult elements featured in the novels, with most episodes being direct adaptions of the books. Production ''Goosebumps'' was filmed largely in Ontario, Canada, with different houses and historic properties in Toronto, Markham, and other outlying rural areas serving often as the sets for each episode rather than constructing artificial houses and buildings.
