The Growing Process is the second studio album by American rapper Dizzy Wright. It was released on May 26, 2015, by Funk Volume and Warner Records. The album features guest appearances from Big K.R.I.T., Tech N9ne, Hopsin, Krayzie Bone, Layzie Bone, Jarren Benton, SwizZz, Berner, and Mod Sun, among others. The album peaked at number 47 on the ''Billboard'' 200 chart. Critical response Dylan Yates of ''The Metropolist'' wrote: "While no new topics are covered within Dizzy's latest offering, ''The Growing Process'' is a solid attempt on the Las Vegas rappers part to give props to the lyrical aesthetic of the genre. An aesthetic, he suggests, that was more prevalent in rap 20 years ago. It also provides a soundscape rich enough to keep even the average Hip Hop listener's interest piqued." Dizzy Wright
La'Reonte Wright (born November 26, 1990), known professionally as Dizzy Wright, is an American rapper and record producer. In December 2011, Wright signed to rapper Hopsin's independent record label, Funk Volume. After signing, he released his debut studio album ''SmokeOut Conversations'' in April 2012. He followed that with ''The First Agreement'' in December of that year, and then a mixtape '' The Golden Age'' in August 2013. Following touring with Hopsin in early 2014, Dizzy Wright released '' State of Mind'', an EP that would peak at number 54 on the ''Billboard'' 200. Jarren Giovanni Benton (born October 26, 1981), is an American rapper from Decatur, Georgia. He signed with California rapper Hopsin's independent record label Funk Volume in 2012, and released his third mixtape, ''Freebasing with Kevin Bacon'' in June of that year. His debut studio album, '' My Grandma's Basement'' (2013) received positive critical reception and entered the ''Billboard'' 200. After the label shut down in 2016, Benton signed with Jay-Z's Roc Nation two years later to release his fourth album, ''Yuck Fou'' (2018). Funk Volume Albums
Funk is a music genre that originated in African-American communities in the mid-1960s when musicians created a rhythmic, danceable new form of music through a mixture of various music genres that were popular among African-Americans in the mid-20th century. It deemphasizes melody and chord progressions and focuses on a strong rhythmic groove (music), groove of a bassline played by an electric bassist and a drum part played by a drum kit, percussionist, often at slower tempos than other popular music. Funk typically consists of a complex percussive groove with Rhythm section, rhythm instruments playing interlocking grooves that create a "hypnotic" and "danceable" feel. He is best known for significantly collaborating with childhood friend Hopsin, and being signed to their record label Funk Volume, which was founded by Hopsin himself. Steven Howse (born September 23, 1974), known professionally as Layzie Bone, is an American rapper known primarily for being a member of the group Bone Thugs-n-Harmony.
