The Greatest Hits (Cheap Trick Album)
''The Greatest Hits'' is the first compilation album by Cheap Trick. It contains many of Cheap Trick's popular songs, as well as a previously unreleased cover version of The Beatles' " Magical Mystery Tour", which according to the liner notes, was an outtake from the ''Lap of Luxury'' album. Though it peaked at only #174 on the ''Billboard'' 200 albums chart, it remained a steady seller, and was certified platinum for one million U.S. shipments seven years after its release. Rendered obsolete by succeeding compilations that contain almost all of the songs on this album, it was nonetheless re-released in 2003, in a re-mastered edition with the addition of "Clock Strikes Ten". Cheap Trick
Cheap Trick is an American rock band formed in Rockford, Illinois in 1970 by guitarist Rick Nielsen, bassist Tom Petersson, lead vocalist Robin Zander and drummer Bun E. Carlos. Their work bridged elements of '60s pop rock, guitar pop, '70s hard rock, and the emerging punk rock sound, and would help set the template for subsequent power pop artists. Robin Zander
Robin Wayne Zander (born January 23, 1953) is an American musician, best known as the lead singer and rhythm guitarist for the rock band Cheap Trick, but is also a solo artist. Zander was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016 as a member of Cheap Trick. Early life Zander was born in Beloit, Wisconsin, and grew up in nearby Loves Park, Illinois. He learned to play the guitar by age 12. Zander graduated from Harlem High School in Machesney Park, Illinois. After playing in high school bands in the 1960s, he joined Brian Beebe to form the folk duo Zander & Kent in the early 1970s. "Tonight It's You" is a song by United States, American rock band Cheap Trick, which was released in 1985 as the lead single from their eighth studio album ''Standing on the Edge (Cheap Trick album), Standing on the Edge''. It was written by Rick Nielsen, Robin Zander, Jon Brant and Mark Radice, and produced by Jack Douglas (record producer), Jack Douglas. "Dream Police" is a song written by Rick Nielsen and originally released in 1979 by the American rock band Cheap Trick. It is the first track on the group's album '' Dream Police''. Rick Nielsen
Richard Alan Nielsen (born December 22, 1948) is an American musician who is the lead guitarist, primary songwriter, and leader of the rock band Cheap Trick. He is well-known for his numerous custom-made guitars from Hamer Guitars, including his famous Quint Neck Guitar, five-neck guitar. Career Nielsen was born into a musical family, with both parents being opera singers. His father, Ralph Nielsen, also directed symphonies, choirs and recorded over forty solo albums. During Rick's teens, the family owned a music store in Rockford, Illinois, and he learned to play a number of instruments. After playing drums for six years, Rick changed direction, learning how to play guitar and keyboards.
