The Goodbye Party is the stage name of American power pop musician Michael Cantor. Cantor is based in Lansdowne, Pennsylvania. History Cantor was originally a member of the band The Ambulars, who released one album on Salinas Records in 2012. He released his first album under the moniker The Goodbye Party in 2014, titled ''Silver Blues'', through Salinas Records. Cantor did not release new music with the project until 2020, when they announced a new album. The album, ''Beautiful Motors'', was released on Double Double Whammy on October 9, 2020. In 2021, Cantor released his third album as The Goodbye Party, titled ''Stray Sparks''. The album received positive reviews, and in 2023 Joey Doubek of Speedy Ortiz included it in their list of "10 essential Philadelphia records". Double Double Whammy is an independent record label founded by Dave Benton and Mike Caridi in October 2011 whilst studying at SUNY Purchase, a liberal arts college in New York state. History Double Double Whammy was founded by Dave Benton and Mike Caridi in October 2011. The pair started releasing tapes for their own band LVL UP, and local bands at SUNY Purchase, the college they attended in New York state. They considered the label inspired by other indie rock labels such as Merge and K. In 2014 Double Double Whammy released the breakout albums from Frankie Cosmos and fellow SUNY Purchase alumna Mitski. After college the label moved to Brooklyn. Lansdowne is a borough (Pennsylvania), borough in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, United States, located southwest of Center City, Philadelphia, Center City Philadelphia. Radiator Hospital is an American indie rock band. Though songwriter Sam Cook-Parrott (vocals/guitar) is from Grand Rapids, Michigan, they are now based in Philadelphia. The rest of the current lineup is Cynthia Schemmer (guitar/vocals), Jon Rybicki (bass), and Jeff Bolt (drums). They have released six albums; two out of print lo-fi cassettes, and four LPs put out by Salinas Records. History After Sam Cook-Parrott's high school band ended, he started recording solo material with a four-track tape recorder. He named the project after an auto body shop in Grand Rapids.
