''The General Strike'' is Anti-Flag's ninth studio album. The album was released on March 20, 2012. The album marks the band's second release for SideOneDummy Records. The first single from the album, "The Neoliberal Anthem" was released to the band's Facebook page in January 2012. The band released a music video for single "This is the New Sound" on March 27, 2012. Writing and production In June 2011, Justin Sane announced that the band had begun working on material for their new studio album under the working title, ''Magnum'', which they hoped would be released in the fall. However the change in title led some fans to speculate if it was due to the Occupy Wall Street movement and protests around the world. Anti-Flag was an American punk rock band formed in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in 1988. The band was known for its left-wing politics, left-wing political activism. For the majority of the band's career, their members included Justin Sane (vocals and guitar), Chris Head (guitar), Pat Thetic (drums), and Chris Barker, also known as Chris No. 2 (vocals and bass). Gaining popularity through the punk underground, Anti-Flag controversially signed to RCA Records and released their major label debut ''For Blood and Empire'' in 2006. SideOneDummy Records is an independent record label based in Los Angeles. It was founded in 1995 by Bill Armstrong and Joe Sib. The label began as a way for them to release music for their friends' bands. The People Or The Gun
''The People or the Gun'' is Anti-Flag's eighth studio album. The album was released on June 9, 2009.Tate, Jason"New Anti-Flag Album Information"''AbsolutePunk.net''. Retrieved on March 31, 2009. It was their first album released on independent label SideOneDummy Records after the band's two-record contract ended with RCA Records. The first track, "Sodom, Gomorrah, Washington D.C. Justin Sane
Justin Cathal Geever (born February 21, 1973), known professionally as Justin Sane, is an American singer and guitarist. He was the lead guitarist, singer and songwriter of Anti-Flag, a punk rock band formed in 1988 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania that was known for its left-wing political views. In 2023, Anti-Flag abruptly disbanded following multiple rape allegations made against Sane. He is currently being sued for rape under New York's Adult Survivors Act.
