The Funky Worm
The Funky Worm was a British dance music studio project, assembled by record producer, Mark Brydon. The group took its name from the hit Ohio Players song " Funky Worm." The group also contained saxophonist Sim Lister. Its track " Hustle! (To the Music...)" went to No. 1 on the US Hot Dance Club Play chart in 1988. Original band founders DJs Parrot and Ping Pong (Carl Munson), were joined by the singer (now actress) Julie Stewart and were signed by WEA, before reaching No. 13 in the UK Singles Chart with "Hustle! (To the Music)...". Two less successful tracks, "The Spell! (Get Down with the Genie)" (1988) and "U + Me = Love" (1989) followed. "The Spell! Dance music is music composed specifically to facilitate or accompany dancing. It can be either a whole musical piece or part of a larger musical arrangement. In terms of performance, the major categories are live dance music and recorded dance music. While there exist attestations of the combination of dance and music in ancient times (for example Ancient Greek vases sometimes show dancers accompanied by musicians), the earliest Western dance music that we can still reproduce with a degree of certainty are old fashioned dances. "Yuppy Love" is an episode of the BBC sitcom ''Only Fools and Horses''. Róisín Marie Murphy ( , ; born 5 July 1973) is an Irish singer, songwriter, and record producer. She first became known in the 1990s as one half of the pop duo Moloko alongside English musician Mark Brydon. Moloko
Moloko () were an Irish-English electronic music duo formed in Sheffield, England, consisting of vocalist Róisín Murphy and producer Mark Brydon. Blending elements of electronica and dance music, they are best known for their UK top 10 singles " The Time Is Now" (2000) and " Familiar Feeling" (2003), as well as the 1999 Boris Dlugosch remix of " Sing It Back" which became an international hit. History Murphy had no prior professional singing experience when Moloko was formed, while Brydon had previously worked on music as a producer with musicians such as Boy George and Cabaret Voltaire on releases from the 1990s. A duet is a musical composition for two performers in which the performers have equal importance to the piece, often a composition involving two singers or two pianists. It differs from a harmony, as the performers take turns performing a solo section rather than performing simultaneously. Mark Brydon
Mark Errington Brydon is an English bassist, guitarist, composer, arranger, recording engineer, remix artist and producer best known as a member of the group Moloko. Previous work He comes from Sunderland, England, but established himself in the Sheffield music scene, most notably with the funk band Chakk whose advance from MCA Records financed the building of FON Studios. Before its bankruptcy, Brydon had divested himself of his interests in legendary FON Studios, for which he did everything from designing the studio architecture to hand-choosing equipment. Brydon made significant contributions to the 1987 British pop hit "House Arrest" by Krush. He furthered his career with contributions to records and remixes such as "The Funky Worm" (whose single " Hustle!
