The Frantics (comedy)
The Frantics is a Canadians, Canadian comedy troupe consisting of Paul Chato, Rick Green (comedian), Rick Green, Dan Redican and Peter Wildman. The group formed in 1979. Chato and Green had written and performed together as a comedy team since high school. They joined the in-house comedy troupe at the Pink Flamingo Cabaret in Toronto, where they met Peter Wildman. One day, Redican, who had been performing as a satirical folk singer and puppeteer in London, Ontario, appeared at the Flamingo as Poopy Dan performing a "Marxist kiddie show". ''Four on the Floor'' is a sketch comedy series which aired on CBC Television in 1986. Consisting of only 13 episodes, the series was a showcase for The Frantics (comedy), The Frantics, a comedy troupe consisting of Paul Chato, Rick Green (comedian), Rick Green, Dan Redican and Peter Wildman. In the U.K., it aired in Channel 4's traditional Friday night comedy slot, from 10 June to 2 September 1988. The introduction was voiced by Dan and Rick alternating each line, with video clips and sound effects interspersed in the opening. ''Boot to the Head'' is a comedy album performed by the Canadian comedy troupe The Frantics. Originally released as an LP in 1987, it was re-issued in 1996 as a CD with the same track listing. The album features a number of skits from their radio show ''Frantic Times'', as well as a few sketches that could not be aired to a general audience. ''Frantic Times'' is a Canadian comedy album, performed by The Frantics comedy troupe. The original LP was released in 1984, and was reissued as a CD with additional tracks by Deep Shag Records in 2003. The album is wholly made up of sketches and songs that appeared on their CBC radio show Frantic Times. The skits were recorded in front of a live audience in the Blue Orchid Room at the Ontario College of Art. The Winnipeg Comedy Festival (WCF) is an annual national comedy festival, held in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The week-long festival takes place at several venues throughout the city, featuring Stand-up comedy, stand-up, Sketch comedy, sketch, and improvisational comedy. Performances from the festival are broadcast as a radio series on CBC Radio One and as a television series on The Comedy Network and CBC Television. The Arrogant Worms are a Canadian musical comedy trio founded in 1991 that parodies many musical genres. They are well known for their humorous on-stage banter in addition to their music. The members have been Trevor Strong (vocals), Mike McCormick (guitar, vocals), and Chris Patterson (bass, vocals) since 1995. Tom Swift is the main character of six series of American juvenile science fiction and adventure novels that emphasize science, invention, and technology. Inaugurated in 1910, the sequence of series comprises more than 100 volumes.
