''The First Traveling Saleslady'' is a 1956 American western comedy film directed by Arthur Lubin and starring Ginger Rogers, Carol Channing and Barry Nelson. Arthur Lubin
Arthur Lubin (July 25, 1898 – May 11, 1995) was an American film director and producer who directed several ''Abbott & Costello'' films, ''Phantom of the Opera (1943 film), Phantom of the Opera'' (1943), the ''Francis the Talking Mule'' series and created the talking-horse TV series ''Mister Ed''. A prominent director for Universal Pictures in the 1940s and 1950s, he is perhaps best known today as the man who gave Clint Eastwood his first contract in film. John Dornin Eldredge (August 30, 1904 – September 23, 1961) was an American film and television actor. He was the younger brother of character actor George Eldredge (1898–1977). Early life Eldredge was born August 30, 1904, in San Francisco. He was the son of a clergyman who made a speciality of dramatics at university.
