The Farm (recording Studio)
The Farm (also known as Fisher Lane Farm) was a recording studio in Chiddingfold, Surrey owned by the rock band Genesis (band), Genesis. The group bought the property in 1980 and, after remodelling it into a studio, recorded every studio album there between ''Abacab'' (1981) and ''Calling All Stations'' (1997), in addition to production and mixing work, and solo projects from the individual members. History The 80-acre estate is situated on Fisher Lane and was a former dairy farm that initially consisted of a Listed building, Grade II listed 16th century farmhouse and a single cowshed. Genesis had wanted their own facility to write, record, and master for several years, avoiding the costs and time constraints involved from working in commercial studios, and wanted a place close to their own homes. Garth Richardson
Garth "GGGarth" Richardson, (born ), is a Canadian record producer and sound engineer. He is the son of music producer Jack Richardson. He has worked with such musical acts as Red Hot Chili Peppers, Motley Crüe, Nickelback, Rage Against the Machine, L7, Mudvayne, Melvins, Biffy Clyro, Kittie, Shihad, 54-40, Hedley, and Rise Against. A boundary microphone (or pressure zone microphone) is one or more small omnidirectional or cardioid condenser mic capsule(s) positioned near or flush with a boundary (surface) such as a floor, table, or wall. The capsule(s) is/are typically mounted in a flat plate or housing. The arrangement provides a directional half-space pickup pattern while delivering a relatively phase-coherent output signal. N-Dubz are an English hip-hop trio from Camden Town, London, England, consisting of cousins Dappy and Tulisa, and their friend Fazer. The Town House (also known as Townhouse Studios) was a recording studio located at 140 Goldhawk Road, Shepherd's Bush in London, built in 1978 under the direction of Richard Branson for Virgin Records.
