Ruy Alexandre Guerra Coelho Pereira (born August 22, 1931) is a Portuguese-Brazilian film director and screenwriter. Guerra was born a Portuguese citizen in Lourenço Marques (today Maputo) in Mozambique, when it was still a Portuguese colony. Biography Guerra studied at IDHEC film school in Paris from 1952. In 1958 he started his career as an assistant director in several French films. He subsequently immigrated to Brazil, where he directed his first feature film, '' Os Cafajestes'' (1962). It was entered into the 12th Berlin International Film Festival. In 1964, Guerra directed '' Os Fuzis'', which placed him in the forefront of the emerging Cinema Novo movement. The film was entered into the 14th Berlin International Film Festival where it won the Silver Bear Extraordinary Jury Prize. Nelson Agostini Xavier (; 30 August 1941 – 10 May 2017) was a Brazilian actor. He appeared in more than 95 films and television shows between 1959 and 2017. He starred in the 1964 film ''Os Fuzis'', which won the Silver Bear, Silver Bear Extraordinary Jury Prize at the 14th Berlin International Film Festival. In 1976, Xavier co-directed ''A Queda'' along with Ruy Guerra, a sequel to ''Os Fuzis''. It was entered into the 28th Berlin International Film Festival, where it won the Jury Grand Prix, Silver Bear – Special Jury Prize. Paulo César de Campos Velho, better known as Paulo César Pereio (19 October 1940 – 12 May 2024), was a Brazilian actor. Activism Pereio was known for being an ardent atheist and communist who was heavily opposed to the statue of Christ the Redeemer, stating that it violates Brazil's secular constitution and ruins the beauty of the mountain. Ariclenes Venâncio Martins (born 29 March 1930), known professionally as Lima Duarte (), is a Brazilian actor.
