Boz Scaggs
William Royce "Boz" Scaggs (born June 8, 1944) is an American singer, songwriter, and guitarist. He was a bandmate of Steve Miller (musician), Steve Miller in the Ardells in the early 1960s and a member of the Steve Miller Band from 1967 to 1968. Scaggs began his solo career in 1969, though he lacked a major hit until his 1976 album, ''Silk Degrees'', peaked at number 2 on the Billboard 200, ''Billboard'' 200 and produced the hit singles "Lido Shuffle" and "Lowdown (Boz Scaggs song), Lowdown". Scaggs produced two more RIAA certification, platinum-certified albums in ''Down Two Then Left'' and ''Middle Man (album), Middle Man'', the latter of which produced the top-40 singles "Breakdown Dead Ahead" and "Jojo (Boz Scaggs song), Jojo". After a hiatus for most of the 1980s, he returned to recording and touring in 1988, releasing ''Other Roads'' and later joining the New York Rock and Soul Revue. Daniel Kortchmar (born April 6, 1946), also known as Danny Kootch, is an American guitarist, session musician, producer and songwriter. His work with singer-songwriters such as Linda Ronstadt, James Taylor, David Crosby, Carole King, David Cassidy, Graham Nash, Neil Young, Steve Perry, and Carly Simon helped define the signature sound of the singer-songwriter era of the 1970s. Jackson Browne and Don Henley have recorded many songs written or co-written by Kortchmar, and Kortchmar was Henley's songwriting and producing partner in the 1980s. Fenton Robinson
Fenton Lee Robinson (September 23, 1935 – November 25, 1997) was an American blues singer and exponent of the Chicago blues guitar. In 2023, he was inducted in the Blues Hall of Fame. Biography Robinson was born near Greenwood, Mississippi. He left home at the age of 18 and moved to Memphis, Tennessee, where he recorded his first single "Tennessee Woman" in 1957. In 1959, he made his first recording of " As the Years Go Passing By", later recorded by several other blues artists. He settled in Chicago in 1962. He recorded his signature song, "Somebody Loan Me a Dime", in 1967 for the Palos label, the nationwide distribution of which was aborted by a freak snowstorm that hit Chicago. A cover version was recorded by Boz Scaggs in 1969, but the song was misattributed, and legal battles ensued. ''Boz Scaggs'' is the second studio album by American musician Boz Scaggs, released in 1969 by Atlantic Records. A stylistically diverse album, ''Boz Scaggs'' incorporates several genres, including Americana, blue-eyed soul, country, and rhythm and blues. The lyrics are about typical themes found in blues songs, such as love, regret, guilt, and loss. Scaggs recorded the album at Muscle Shoals Sound Studio with producer Jann Wenner, the co-founder of ''Rolling Stone'' magazine. The Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section heavily contributed to the album, which included a young Duane Allman, before his rise to fame with the Allman Brothers Band.
