The Eaters Of Light
"The Eaters of Light" is the tenth episode of the tenth series of the British science fiction television series ''Doctor Who''. It was written by Rona Munro and broadcast on 17 June 2017 on BBC One. Munro previously wrote ''Survival'', the final serial of the original run of ''Doctor Who'', making her the only writer to date to have worked on the classic and revived eras of the show. The episode received generally positive reviews from television critics. The Doctor (Peter Capaldi) takes Bill (Pearl Mackie) and Nardole (Matt Lucas) to second-century Scotland to settle their different theories about what happened to the ninth legion of the Roman army that vanished. Peter Capaldi
Peter Dougan Capaldi (; born 14 April 1958) is a Scottish actor, director, singer and guitarist. He portrayed the Twelfth Doctor, twelfth incarnation of the Doctor in the science fiction series ''Doctor Who'' (2013–2017) and Malcolm Tucker in ''The Thick of It'' (2005–2012), for which he received four British Academy Television Award nominations, winning British Academy Television Award for Best Male Comedy Performance, Best Male Comedy Performance in 2010. The Picts were a group of peoples in what is now Scotland north of the Firth of Forth, in the Scotland in the early Middle Ages, Early Middle Ages. Where they lived and details of their culture can be gleaned from early medieval texts and Pictish stones. TARDIS
The TARDIS (; acronym for "Time And Relative Dimension(s) In Space") is a fictional hybrid of a time machine and spacecraft that appears in the British science fiction television series ''Doctor Who'' and its various spin-offs. While a TARDIS is capable of disguising itself, the exterior appearance of the Doctor's TARDIS typically mimics a police box, an obsolete type of telephone kiosk that was once commonly seen on streets in Britain in the 1940s and 50s. Its interior is shown as being much larger than its exterior, commonly described as being "bigger on the inside". The Imperial Roman Army was the military land force of the Roman Empire from 27 BC to 476 AD, and the final incarnation in the long history of the Roman army. This period is sometimes split into the Principate (27 BC – 284 AD) and the Dominate (284–476) periods.
