The Dumping Ground (series 7)
The seventh series of the British children's television series ''The Dumping Ground'' began broadcasting on 4 January 2019 on CBBC and ended on 6 December 2019. The series follows the lives of the children living in the fictional children's care home of Ashdene Ridge, nicknamed by them "The Dumping Ground". It consisted of twenty-four, thirty-minute episodes; from episode two onwards, episodes premiered a week early on BBC iPlayer. It is the 15th series in The Story of Tracy Beaker franchise. Cast Main Guest Episodes Air dates refer to the episodes' initial airing (i.e. from episodes 2-12, their premiere on BBC iPlayer, which took place a week in advance of their TV broadcast). Connor Byrne
Connor Byrne (born 18 March 1964) is an Irish actor and former dancer, known for his role as Mike Milligan (character), Mike Milligan in ''The Story of Tracy Beaker (TV series), The Story of Tracy Beaker'', ''Tracy Beaker Returns'', ''The Dumping Ground'' and ''The Beaker Girls''. Having played the role between 2002 and 2023, he is the longest serving cast member in the franchise. Career Before Byrne entered into the acting world, he danced with companies around the world. He first performed in the West End Theater. Byrne's first acting role was as Dan in a 1991 television production of ''Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat''. His first main role was as Rob “Hyper” Sharpe in ''London's Burning (TV series), London's Burning'', a role he played for two years. This is a list of characters that were introduced in CBBC's ''The Dumping Ground''. The series was based on ''The Story of Tracy Beaker'' by Jacqueline Wilson. It has aired from 2013 to 2025 and has aired thirteen seasons. The series follows ''The Story of Tracy Beaker'' which ran for five series from 2002 to 2005, and ''Tracy Beaker Returns'' which ran for three series from 2010 to 2012. Connor Byrne has played the role of Mike Milligan for all four programmes, although he left in Series 7 Episode 24 to live with his family in Ireland. He returned in the last episode of the last season of The Beaker Girls.
