The Disappearing Floor
''The Disappearing Floor'' is Volume 19 in the original The Hardy Boys Mystery Stories published by Grosset & Dunlap. This book was written for the Stratemeyer Syndicate by John Button in 1940. Between 1959 and 1973 the first 38 volumes of this series were systematically revised as part of a project directed by Harriet Adams, Edward Stratemeyer's daughter. The original version of this book was rewritten in 1964 by James D. Lawrence resulting in two different stories with the same title. UK version published by William Collins Sons & Co. Ltd. as ''The Mystery of the Disappearing Floor'', Volume 5, in 1971. Because of Dr. John Button's death in 1967, ''The Disappearing Floor'' entered the Canadian Public Domain on January 1, 2017. A hound is a type of hunting dog used by hunters to track or chase prey. Description Hounds can be contrasted with gun dogs that assist hunters by identifying prey and/or recovering shot quarry. The hound breeds were the first hunting dogs. They have either a powerful sense of smell, great speed, or both. There are three types of hound, with several breeds type: * Sighthounds (also called ''gazehounds'') follow prey predominantly by speed, keeping it in sight. ''The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries'' (re-titled ''The Hardy Boys'' for season three) is an American television mystery series based on the '' Hardy Boys'' and ''Nancy Drew'' juvenile novels. The series, which ran from January 30, 1977, to January 14, 1979, was produced by Glen A. Larson from Universal Television for ABC. Parker Stevenson and Shaun Cassidy starred as amateur detective brothers Frank and Joe Hardy, respectively, while Pamela Sue Martin (later Janet Louise Johnson) starred as amateur sleuth Nancy Drew. In geography, a bight () is a concave bend or curvature in a coastline, river or other geographical feature, or it may refer to a very open bay formed by such a feature. Such bays are typically broad, open, shallow and only slightly recessed. Description The size of bights differs greatly, which may be as small as a bend in a river or large like a sound. Large bights are shallower than sounds.
