The Damn Band
The Damn Band is the backing band of Hank Williams III. It was formed in 1995, and the band is on most of Williams's country records. The band has had many changes in the line-ups. It consists of acoustic guitar (played by Williams), steel guitar, fiddle, bass, drums, electric guitar and banjo. History Hank Williams III is the grandson of Hank Williams and son of Hank Williams Jr. Williams began his musical career in the early 1990s, playing with obscure punk bands until a judge ordered him in 1995 to "find a real job" and ruled that he owed thousands of dollars in back child support. Williams decided that he would pursue a career in Country music and signed with Curb Records. Around this time he formed The Damn Band, which consisted of traditional country instruments such as the Steel Guitar, Fiddle, and upright Bass. Duane Denison (born January 21, 1959) is an American guitarist best known for work with the punk rock band The Jesus Lizard. He is also a founding member of super-group Tomahawk. Tim Yeung (born November 27, 1978) is an American extreme metal drummer. He has previously performed with Morbid Angel and I Am Morbid alongside former Morbid Angel vocalist/bassist David Vincent. Vernon Derrick
Vernon Derrick (November 7, 1933 – January 4, 2008) was an American musician and entertainer. Derrick may best be remembered as a fiddle and mandolin player of Hank Williams Jr.'s Bama Band in the 1980s. Personal life Derrick was born in Grant, Alabama, in 1933 and was a resident of Arab, Alabama, since 1941. Derrick began his professional career in music as a teenager, playing a short stint with Flatt and Scruggs, and then enlisted in the United States Army. After a long career, Derrick died from heart and kidney failure at Marshall Medical Center North, Marshall County, Alabama on January 4, 2008, and was interred at Mount Oak Cemetery, near Arab, Alabama. Joe Buck is the stage name of Jim Finklea, an American Country music, country and punk rock musician from Murray, Kentucky. His primary instruments are double bass and guitar. Joe Buck's first serious musical project was called Gringo. They released self-titled "Gringo" on Pravda Records in 1995. The lineup consisted of Jim (Joe Buck) on vocals and guitar, Leila Vartanian on vocals and bass, and Tim Krause, who produced the CD, playing drums. It is a polarized collection of ballads and throbbing rockers. The follow-up CD, "Combine" was released on Pravda Records in 1997.
