''The Daily Dispatch'' is an American, English language community-oriented daily newspaper based in Henderson, North Carolina, primarily covering the North Carolina counties of Vance, Granville, and Warren. It is published three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays except on certain national holidays. History President and Editor P.T. Way started the publication as a four-page, 16-column daily version of his semi-weekly ''Henderson Gold Leaf'' on that date when World War I brought the need for up-to-date news of events abroad. The newspaper took the name of the ''Henderson Daily Dispatch'' in 1915 when Henry A. Dennis joined the staff as the paper's news editor. Henderson, North Carolina
Henderson is a city and the county seat of Vance County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 15,060 at the 2020 census. History The city was named in honor of former North Carolina Supreme Court Chief Justice Leonard Henderson, who lived nearby and was a friend of early settler Lewis Reavis. Henderson was officially chartered by the North Carolina General Assembly in 1841. Prior to the creation of Vance County in 1881, Henderson was located in far eastern Granville County. Vance County is a county located in the U.S. state of North Carolina. As of the 2020 census, the population was 42,578. Its county seat is Henderson. Granville County is a county located on the northern border of the U.S. state of North Carolina. As of the 2020 census, the population was 60,992. Its county seat is Oxford. Warren County is a county located in the northeastern Piedmont region of the U.S. state of North Carolina, on the northern border with Virginia, made famous for a landfill and birthplace of the environmental justice movement.
