The Daichis
is an anime television series created and written by Shōji Kawamori. The series premiered in Japan on WOWOW between January 9, 2001 and March 29, 2001, spanning a total of 13 episodes. It centers on a dysfunctional family tasked with defending the Earth from alien invaders. The series was aired by the anime television network Animax across its respective networks worldwide, including its English language networks in Southeast Asia and South Asia under the title ''The Family's Defensive Alliance''. Anna Cummer (born January 2, 1977) is a Canadian actress. She was born in Singapore to Canadian parents. She spent half of her adolescence in Southeast Asia and the other half in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. She finished high school in Hong Kong at the French International School of Hong Kong and studied drama in England where she completed the Master of Performing Arts. Since returning to Canada in 2001, Cummer has put her talents to good use as a voiceover artist, working in film and television, and performing in theatrical productions. The Surf Coasters (Japanese: ザ・サーフコースターズ ''Za Sāfukōsutāzu'') are a Japanese surf band, started by Shigeo Naka in 1994. History The band became known with their stint on the talent show television program '' Ebisu-Onsen'', a show very similar in concept to the American program, ''Star Search'' on which the winning band would receive a recording contract. Although the Surf Coasters did not win the competition, their success on the show led to a loyal fan following. They succeeded to make it into the final round of the competition, where they finished in second place; however, they still received a record deal, which led to the release of their debut CD, ''Surf Panic '95'', which, despite being an instrumental album, sold well.
