The Comeback (1978 Film)
''The Comeback'' (also known as ''The Day the Screaming Stopped or Encore'') is a 1978 British psychological horror slasher film directed and produced by Pete Walker (director), Pete Walker and starring Jack Jones (singer), Jack Jones, Pamela Stephenson, and David Doyle (actor), David Doyle. Its plot follows Nick Cooper, a successful but dormant American singer who retreats to a remote manor in Surrey to record an album; there, he is followed by a psychopath—donning a hag mask—who murdered his ex-wife Gail. Plot Gail Cooper travels to her ex-husband Nick's apartment in London in order to remove some of its more valuable items. It soon becomes apparent that while Nick (a successful singer) isn't at home, someone is clearly there. Pete Walker (director)
Pete Walker (born 4 July 1939) is an English film director, writer, and producer, specializing in horror film, horror and sexploitation films, frequently combining the two. Biography Walker was born on 4 July 1939 in Brighton, England, the son of stand-up comedy, stand-up comic Syd Walker and a showgirl mother. He began his performing career as a stand-up comic while a teenager, but quit at age 19. Penny Irving
Penny Irving is a Scottish-born former actress and a page 3 model in ''The Sun'' newspaper. Career Irving is best remembered for her roles in the 1970s sitcom ''Are You Being Served?'' Foxwarren Park, at Wisley in Surrey, is a Victorian country house and estate. On sandstone Ockham and Wisley Commons, it was designed in 1860 by the railway architect Frederick Barnes for brewing magnate and MP, Charles Buxton. It is a Grade II* listed building. From 1919 to 1955, it was owned by Alfred Ezra who was President of the Avicultural Society — he assembled a collection of rare birds and animals on the estate — in 1939 it housed the last known pink-headed ducks in the world.
