The Cat and the Cobra is the second album by Les Savy Fav. It was the first CD released by Frenchkiss Records, bassist Syd Butler's label. The vinyl LP was released by Self-Starter Foundation. Tim Harrington (singer)
Tim Harrington is an American musician and designer who has been the lead singer of New York indie rock band Les Savy Fav since they formed while together at Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) in 1995. He is notable for his energetic stage performances which often include multiple changes of clothing and performing in his underwear. He describes his style as "acting entirely by my own desire and what moves me. I've always felt like the only real people I'm particularly trying to entertain are the rest of the guys in the band and myself". He fronted a video series called "Beardo" on Pitchfork Media. Harrington has also been a professional designer, illustrator, and fine artist since 1996, creating a range of "bummer postcards" and illustrations, including the sleeve art for Les Savy Fav albums. Enon (band)
Enon was an indie rock band founded by John Schmersal, Rick Lee, and Steve Calhoon that was active from 1997 to 2011; for most of its history, however, Enon was a three-piece outfit composed of Schmersal, Toko Yasuda, and Matt Schulz. Though situated for a time in Philadelphia, Enon was primarily known for being part of the New York music scene. Enon was known for using Moog synthesizers and Teisco guitars. Schmersal's green guitar he often used on stage was a Teisco TG-64, and he also owns a Teisco Del Rey. Yasuda played a Fender Jazz Bass with an adapted tuning machine, which allowed quickly tuning to D from E. Schmersal also owns a custom built Twister guitar built by Yuri Landman, an alternate version of the Springtime exclusively crafted for Enon with some additional features such as a scalloped fretboard and an additional pickup in the bridge. Toko Yasuda
Toko Yasuda is a Japanese singer, songwriter, keyboardist, guitarist, and bassist, best known as a member of New York indie rock band Enon (band), Enon and as a musician in live St. Vincent (musician), St. Vincent performances. Life and career Yasuda grew up in the cities of Fujisawa, Kanagawa, Fujisawa and Kamakura, Kanagawa, Kamakura. Her father was once a Aikikai#Dōshu, dōshu of Aikido. She moved to New York City in 1992, and lived there until 2006. Yasuda has played in the bands The Lapse and The Van Pelt before their disbandment, and had a brief stint in Blonde Redhead. After that Toko appeared in the band Enon (band), Enon from 1999 to 2007. Yasuda plays bass guitar, electronic keyboards, electric guitar and sings.
