The Band (album)
''The Band'' is the second studio album by the Band, released on September 22, 1969. It is also known as ''The Brown Album''. According to Rob Bowman's liner notes for the 2000 reissue, ''The Band'' has been viewed as a concept album, with the songs focusing on people, places and traditions associated with an older version of Americana. Thus, the songs on this album draw on historic themes for " The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down", " King Harvest (Has Surely Come)" and "Jawbone" (which was composed in the unusual 6/4 time signature). Recording After unsuccessfully attempting sessions at a studio in New York, the Band set up shop in the pool house of a home rented by the group in the Hollywood Hills located at 8850 Evanview Drive in Los Angeles, California. The home was then owned by Sammy Davis Jr. and was previously owned by Judy Garland and Wally Cox. According to Robbie Robertson, the location was chosen to give the songs a ''Basement Tapes''–like feel in what was termed " ...

Orbital (1993 Album)

Like the duo's debut album, the album was officially untitled. The album peaked at number 28 on the UK Albums Chart. Album On ''Orbital'' the duo aimed to make more atmospheric music than the dance raves of their first album. They used more complex rhythms and denser arrangements on the appropriately named pieces entitled "Lush" but still proving themselves capable of making quality pop music on " Halcyon + On + On", with vocals from Kirsty Hawkshaw of Opus III. The album begins with "Time Becomes", which uses the same speech sample by the actor Michael Dorn in '' Star Trek: The Next Generation'' (Time squared - season 2 episode 13, Worf - 20'30 : "There is the theory of the Möbius. A twist in the fabric of space where time becomes a loop") which opened their first album. The piece uses phasin ...

Jesus Christ Superstar (album)
''Jesus Christ Superstar'' is a 1970 album musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, on which the 1971 rock opera of the same name was based. Initially unable to get backing for a stage production, the composers released it as an album, the success of which led to stage productions. The album musical is a musical dramatisation of the last week of the life of Jesus Christ, beginning with his entry into Jerusalem and ending with the Crucifixion. It was originally banned by the BBC on grounds of being "sacrilegious". By 1983, the album had sold over seven million copies worldwide. Composition The album's story is based in large part on the Synoptic Gospels and Fulton J. Sheen's ''Life of Christ'', which compares and calibrates all four Gospels. However, greater emphasis is placed on the interpersonal relationships of the major characters, in particular, Jesus, Judas and Mary Magdalene, relationships that are not described in depth in the Gospels. Lyricist Rice said he t ...
