The Breathing Process is an American deathcore band, formed in 2003 as one of the first bands of the genre to incorporate symphonic elements into their music, along with standard death metal and black metal. The band has released four albums and two EPs. History Since forming, The Breathing Process released three EPs, two of which were demos, after which they were signed to Siege of Amida Records, known for their work with bands like Shadows Fall, Killswitch Engage, and All That Remains, releasing their debut album ''In Waking: Divinity'' via the label in October 2007. The album was noted for showing the band departing from their earlier metalcore sound by mixing the genre with blackened death metal, a style compared to fellow symphonic deathcore pioneers Winds of Plague. The band began to tour, but on April 22, 2008, their touring van and most of their belongings were destroyed in a massive fire. Deathcore is an extreme metal subgenre that combines death metal with metalcore. The genre consists of death metal guitar riffs, blast beats, and metalcore Breakdown (music)#Heavy metal and punk rock, breakdowns. Wretched is an American death metal band from Charlotte, North Carolina, founded by Marshall Wieczorek and Steven Funderburk in 2005. Wretched's musical style incorporates elements of melodic death metal, deathcore, and technical death metal. History Wretched started in 2005 under the name And Since Forgotten as a collaboration between Marshall Wieczorek, Paul McClendon, and Steven Funderburk, who started playing together and looking for new members to start a music group. They recruited JC Lawrence and Josh Simpson and started playing local shows in North Carolina, quickly gaining a local following. Worm Shepherd is an American deathcore band from Brockton, Massachusetts, formed in 2020. The band has released three studio albums and an EP. History The band released their debut album '' In The Wake Ov Sòl'' independently on December 25, 2020, before getting signed to Unique Leader Records and re-releasing the album via the label on June 4, 2021, receiving positive feedback. Cattle Decapitation is an American deathgrind band formed in San Diego, California, in 1996. The band's current lineup includes vocalist Travis Ryan, guitarists Josh Elmore and Belisario Dimuzio, and drummer David McGraw. Since 2001, none of the founding members remain with the band. Despite not being in the original lineup, Ryan and Elmore are the only constant members on all of Cattle Decapitation's eight studio albums.
