''The Boyfriend'' is the 1986 debut solo album from Danny Wilde. It was released by Island Records. The track "Isn't it Enough" was the only single to make it on to the pop/rock charts. Danny Wilde (musician)
Danny Wilde (birth name Daniel Thomas; born June 3, 1956) is an American musician. He is a founding member of The Rembrandts, with the '' Friends'' theme song " I'll Be There For You". Wilde was born in Houlton, Maine, but is known for breezy California power pop through his records released in the 1980s and 90s. In the 1980s he landed two minor rock radio hits with "Isn't It Enough" and "Time Runs Wild". The single "Time Runs Wild" was featured on the soundtrack to the film '' Dream a Little Dream''. Wilde was the founding member of the power-pop band The Quick. Wilde then went on to form Great Buildings in 1981 and released an album. After the band's demise, Wilde pursued a solo career. His first solo release in 1986, '' The Boyfriend'', garnered two pop singles: "Isn't It Enough" and "Body To Body". Wilde then released '' Any Man's Hunger'' in 1988. Power pop (also typeset as powerpop) is a form of pop rock based on the early music of bands such as the Who, the Beatles, the Beach Boys, and the Byrds. It typically incorporates melodic hooks, vocal harmonies, an energetic performance, and cheerful sounding music underpinned by a sense of yearning, longing, or despair. Patricia Smyth (born June 26, 1957) is an American singer and songwriter. She first came into national attention with the rock band Scandal and went on to record and perform as a solo artist. Her distinctive voice and new wave image gained broad exposure through video recordings aired on cable music video channels such as MTV. Her debut solo album '' Never Enough'' was well received, and generated a pair of Top 100 hits. In the early 1990s she reached the top 10 with the hit single " Sometimes Love Just Ain't Enough," a duet with Don Henley of the Eagles. Scandal is an American rock band from the 1980s fronted by Patty Smyth. The band scored a hit in the United States with the song " The Warrior", which peaked at No. 7 in 1984. Other hits were " Goodbye to You" (1982 – No. 65 US), "Love's Got a Line on You" (1983 – No. 59 US), "Hands Tied" (1984 – No. 41 US), and "Beat of a Heart" (1985 – No. 41 US). ''Never Enough'' is the debut album by former Scandal singer Patty Smyth. It was released in 1987 on Columbia Records (also the group's label) three years after the band's breakup in 1984. Content On The Bloomberg Report, Smyth said the album "was never supposed to be a solo record; it was meant to be a record by Scandal Featuring Patty Smyth. Even though the band had broken up, I was still with Keith Mack; it was Zack and I that had ended our partnership." Though she would later have success as a songwriter, Smyth cowrote only the album's first and last tracks.
