The Blood Barrier
''The Blood Barrier'' is a 1920 American silent drama film directed by J. Stuart Blackton and starring Sylvia Breamer, Robert Gordon, and William R. Dunn.Britton p. 9 Plot Eugene Solari harbors an obsessive jealousy towards his stunning wife, Enid. During one of her visits to Major Trevor on behalf of her father, Eugene discovers the rendezvous and, consumed by fury, rushes to Trevor's residence. Despite Enid's efforts to warn Trevor, she arrives too late; Eugene fatally shoots her and then takes his own life. However, before his demise, Eugene falsely accuses Trevor of the crime. Subsequently, Trevor is apprehended under suspicion of murder. In a twist of events, a foreign operative, seeking a confidential formula possessed by Trevor, abducts Enid. The operative communicates with Trevor, offering to exonerate him and return Enid safely in exchange for the formula. Cyrus Townsend Brady
Cyrus Townsend Brady (December 20, 1861 – January 24, 1920) was an American priest, journalist, historian and adventure writer. His best-known work is ''Indian Fights and Fighters''. Background He was born in Allegheny, Pennsylvania, and graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1883. In 1889, he was ordained a deacon in the Episcopal church, and was ordained a priest in 1890. His first wife was Clarissa Guthrie, who died in 1890. His second wife was Mary Barrett. Brady's first major book, ''For Love of Country'', whilst telling the story of a fictitious John Seymour, was actually based in part on the true heroics of Nicholas Biddle, one of the first five captains of the fledgling Continental Navy. Brady was also famous for his opposition to feminism and Women's suffrage: he preached many anti-suffrage sermons and described women voters as "an insult to God". Margaret Barry (1917–1989) was an Irish Traveller, traditional singer and banjo player. Biography Born Margaret Cleary in Cork (city), Cork into a family of Irish Traveller, Travellers and street singers, she taught herself how to play the zither banjo and the fiddle at a young age. At the age of sixteen, after a family disagreement, Margaret left home and started performing as a street musician. In the early 1950s, she moved to London, originally to appear on a TV series called ''The Songhunter'', produced by a young David Attenborough. Attenborough described in recent years how Barry’s striking wild, toothless appearance and her out-of-tune banjo playing prompted a volley of angry complaints about Irish tinkers being allowed on the TV. Edward Frank Dunn (March 31, 1896 – May 5, 1951) was an American actor best known for his roles in comedy films, supporting many comedians such as Charley Chase (with whom he co-directed several short films), Charlie Chaplin, W. C. Fields and Laurel and Hardy. As a high school student in Waco, Texas, Dunn began performing with some fellow students on a local radio station. He broke into films with the Vitagraph studio in 1915, working with the studio's star comedians Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Drew and Larry Semon. By 1927 he was working with stop-motion animator Charley Bowers at Educational Pictures, as a supporting player in Bowers's live-action comedies. In 1929 his career took a decided turn for the better when he signed with the Hal Roach studio.
