The Bells (group)
The Bells, a.k.a. The Five Bells, were a Canadian soft rock band from Montreal, Quebec, active from 1964 to 1974. They released five albums and several singles, two of which were major hits in the early 70s, "Fly Little White Dove Fly" and especially " Stay Awhile". History The band formed in 1964 in Montreal as The Five Bells. Members were South African-born sisters Anne and Jackie Ralph as well as Cliff Edwards, Doug Gravelle and Gordon McLeod. Cliff Edwards and Anne Ralph married in 1967. The Five Bells' first big song was "Moody Manitoba Morning" (written by Rick Neufeld) which peaked on the RPM 100 chart at #78 in the spring of 1969. In 1970, after their first child was born, Anne retired and the family settled on a hobby farm in Warkworth, Ontario. Guy Maddin
Guy Maddin (born February 28, 1956) is a Canadian screenwriter, director, author, cinematographer, film editor and installation artist. He is known for his fascination with lost Silent film, Silent-era films and for incorporating their aesthetics into his own work. Maddin was appointed to the Order of Canada, the country's highest civilian honour, in 2012. Maddin began serving as a visiting lecturer at Harvard University's Department of Art, Film, and Visual Studies in 2015. Maxwell's Silver Hammer
"Maxwell's Silver Hammer" is a song by the English rock band the Beatles from their 1969 album ''Abbey Road''. It was written by Paul McCartney and credited to the Lennon–McCartney partnership. The song is about a student named Maxwell Edison who commits murders with a hammer, with the dark lyrics disguised by an upbeat sound. McCartney described the song as symbolic of the downfalls of life, being "my analogy for when something goes wrong out of the blue, as it so often does". The series had runs on two different networks on NBC (1962–1963) and CBS (1969–1972) but is most known for its run on first-run syndication from 1965 to 1969 and 1972 to 1986. ''The Tonight Show'' is an American late-night talk show that has been broadcast on NBC since 1954. The program has been hosted by six comedians: Steve Allen (1954–1957), Jack Paar (1957–1962), Johnny Carson (1962–1992), Jay Leno (1992–2009 and 2010–2014), Conan O'Brien (2009–2010), and Jimmy Fallon (2014–present).
