The Basin Football Club is an Australian rules football club located in The Basin, Victoria. The club is affiliated in Division 2 of the Eastern Football League. The Basin Football Club has a tradition of local support and continues to be a powerhouse in Eastern Football League. History The club was formed in 1947 and in 1948 combined with the Colchester-Basin Cricket Club and commenced playing at Batterham Reserve. They played in the Croydon FL and later became a founding member of the Eastern Football League. The Basin is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 31 km east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Knox local government area. The Basin recorded a population of 4,497 at the 2021 census. History Traditional custodians Prior to European settlement, The Basin and surrounding suburbs were often visited by the Bunurong and Yarra Yarra people—hunting in the summer months in the Dandenong Ranges and its foothills. Cricket (sport)
Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field, at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails (small sticks) balanced on three stumps. Two players from the batting team, the striker and nonstriker, stand in front of either wicket holding bats, while one player from the fielding team, the bowler, bowls the ball toward the striker's wicket from the opposite end of the pitch. The striker's goal is to hit the bowled ball with the bat and then switch places with the nonstriker, with the batting team scoring one run for each of these swaps. Runs are also scored when the ball reaches the boundary of the field or when the ball is bowled illegally. The fielding team aims to prevent runs by dismissing batters (so they are "out"). Angelo Petraglia
Angelo Petraglia (born May 5, 1954) is an American record producer and songwriter. He was a member of the new wave band Face to Face and is best known for his work with Kings of Leon. Early life He was born in the Bronx and grew up in Pelham, New York. His father was a janitor and his mother was a bookkeeper. By the time he'd reached the third grade, he was playing guitar, inspired by Ricky Nelson’s brief promotional appearances at the end of Ozzie and Harriet. He studied visual art at New England College. Songwriting career Petraglia has produced albums and co-written songs with Kings of Leon. He, along with Larry Gottlieb and Kim Richey, received a Grammy nomination as the songwriters for Trisha Yearwood’s hit " Believe Me Baby (I Lied)". Jason Daniltchenko (born 2 September 1975) is an Australian rules footballer who played for North Melbourne in the Australian Football League (AFL). Playing career Daniltchenko was part of Eastern Ranges The Eastern Ranges is an Australian rules football team that currently competes in the Talent League, the Victorian statewide under-18s competition. History Inaugural playing squad (1992) Honours *Premiers (2): 2002, 2013 *Runners-up (6): 199 ...' inaugural squad in the 1992 TAC Cup season. He made his senior AFL debut for North Melbourne in 1993. Between 1993 and 1997 he played 29 matches, scoring 18 goals.
