The Base (Sardinian Political Party)
The Base () is a left-wing political party active in Sardinia, led by Efisio Arbau. History The party was established in 2010 by Efisio Arbau, mayor of Ollolai since 2005. Arbau, a member of the Democratic Party, asked a primary election for the presidency of the Province of Nuoro. Denied of the primary, as the party wanted to confirm the incumbent Roberto Deriu, Arbau did not give up his candidacy and was expelled from the party along with seven other Democratic activists. The regional section of the PD was also divided on the case: MPs Antonello Soro, Gian Piero Scanu, Guido Melis and Caterina Pes supported Arbau, and regional councillor Francesca Barracciu described the expulsion of Arbau as a "squad and Holy Inquisition method". Arbau thus ran for president in the provincial election – won again by Deriu – in alliance with Italy of Values, the Greens, the Red Moors and Left Ecology Freedom, arguing, during the entire electoral campaign, that the Democratic Party had no ...

Grassroots Democratic Party Of Germany
The Grassroots Democratic Party of Germany (, abbreviated ) is a political party in Germany. The declared aim of the party is to strengthen grassroots democracy in society and politics, as they consider that many areas of life are dominated by economic interests, profits, and fights for political power. Political scientists and media reports however generally identify the party as primarily supported by lockdown opponents and anti-vaccination campaigners. The party cannot be easily placed on the political spectrum. According to an investigation by RedaktionsNetzwerk Deutschland, however, its membership combines believers in alternative medicine and esotericism with far right conspiracy theorists such as Reichsbürger. The party has never won any seats in the Bundestag, state Landtags or the European Parliament. History In the 2021 federal election, the party received 1.4% of the national vote (630,153 votes), winning more votes than other prominent minor German parties s ...

The Base is a regional shopping centre located in Te Rapa, in the New Zealand city of Hamilton, New Zealand, Hamilton. The centre consists of the original outdoor strip mall, and the more recent Te Awa enclosed shopping mall. History The 30-hectare block of land that The Base sits on traditionally belonged to Waikato-Tainui. It was taken prior to World War II by the Crown under the Public Works Act for defence purposes, and became the Te Rapa Air Force Base (hence the name), which eventually closed in 1992. The land came back to the tribe in 1995 as part of the Waikato-Tainui Raupatu (land confiscation) settlement. It was put into what is known as Pōtatau Te Wherowhero title (named after the first Māori king), which means it can never be sold or alienated. In 2002 Tainui Group Holdings announced that they would build a $50 million retail development that would eventually cover over 60,000 square metres of retail and commercial space. The initial resource consents were lodged ...
